Donald Trump doesn’t sound like most Republican candidates—and not just because he uses unusually pointed language. It’s also due to his policies. One prominent example: He’s talked about raising taxes on some wealthy Americans and corporations.
The idea of raising taxes is anathema to most GOP politicians. Many sign a pledge promising not to increase them.
How can Mr. Trump lead the Republican presidential field while calling for higher taxes? A look at poll data suggests...

That support fades at higher incomes levels.

If you listened carefully to what Trump said, he said the system is too complicated and needs to be simplified. He is right. He said the crony capitalists were not paying a fair share of the tax burden, taking advantage of loopholes in the system unavailable to working Americans. He was right. Should taxes overall be reduced? Most definitely. Especially for American businesses and entrepeneurs. But the Uberrich Crony capitalists,part of the globalist mafia seeking to liquidate borders, steal American jobs, pander to the UN and the PetroSheikdoms, yes, they should pay THEIR share of the overall tax burden. And I think that is what he was saying.

The whole article is a lie. He has a proposal and it has lower tax rates than current rates. They are talking about something he proposed years ago that isn’t in his tax plan and he doesn’t support anymore.
I will take a candidate who promises to end the invasion and send illegals home as a priority. It appears even Trump is backing away from that. Too bad.

That’s not a bug, it’s a feature. The government is well aware of massive fraud and only makes token efforts to stop it. That’s because the desire is to bankrupt America so the downtrodden masses will accept communism. As Saul Alinsky said, (approximately) “Americans are too rich to accept communism. We must take their money away so they embrace it as their savior.”
Trump was speaking of people that are evading taxes by mis-labeling income as long term or short term capital gains such as the hedgies he is surrounded by in NYC.. He has no intention of raising taxes on those not using those loopholes. This is a NON-ISSUE ...

Okay, fair enough...reasonable thought process^^^ above. And I mean that, your point is valid so it is worth examining piece by piece. First, he "promises to end the invasion." GOOD. That's where we need to start. Agreed. But he's not the only, or the first, to say this. Maybe he's the most effective at rallying people on it, but that's not the same as being the only or the first.
He also "promises to send illegals home as a priority." The problem here is, is that the priority? Or is stopping the invasion the priority? Kate Steinle was murdered by an illegal who had been DEPORTED FIVE TIMES - SENT HOME FIVE TIMES - meaning he snuck in at least six times to this country. So it seems to me the issue that MUST MUST MUST be handled first is the border, stopping the invasion.
Now you say he's backing away from that too a bit. Perhaps it's because he's started to calculate the unthinkable logistical mountain that "sending them all back" will be. Or perhaps he's started to think about how Americans, who may support deportation now, will react to the first Elian Gonzales type video that goes viral of a family being ripped apart by SWAT looking government officers.
I don't know. So while Trump has done us all a tremendous favor with how he's set political correctness back 50 years and how he's sent mortal fear through the establishment....maybe a pause to examine his "promises" and bluster is worth the time. Perhaps there are candidates who will actually deliver more, even as they are not as charismatic and powerful as a personality.

Government is a huge snowball. Every move it makes it collects more of our sustenance. Political “leaders” are good at pointing out boogiemen that aren’t paying their “fair” share. If enough people fall for it we “level” the playing field by adding some more to the snowball. Anybody that looks at ANY, and I do mean ANY, politician to make life “fair” is in for a lifetime of dour disappointment.
