TRUMP: US SHOULD ‘HELP AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE,’ WITH REFUGEE CRISIS, ‘POSSIBLY’ LET SOME IN
Breitbart ^ | 5 SEPT 2015 | IAN HANCHETT

Posted on 09/07/2015 12:37:22 PM PDT by South40

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stated that while “There’s only so much we can do. We have to fix our own country” the US should “help as much as possible” with the European refugee crisis and “possibly” let some refugees into the US on Friday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

Trump was asked about the European refugee crisis and, “Should we be letting some of those people into this country?”

He answered, “So horrible on a humanitarian basis when you see that. It’s like incredible what’s going on. But, you know, we have so many problems. And the answer is possibly yes, Cokie, possibly yes.

“Trump is not going to win the nomination...”

Then why continue to burn calories by pasting your lazy spam over and over?

It sounds like he really didn’t know enough to give an answer, so he replied with “possibly yes”
Not “definitely” or even “probably” but “possibly”

Most of those people fleeing to Germany are NOT Syrian.

I believe that you believe that or you wouldn't post it. Please offer a source that this present exodus didn't originate with displaced Syrians and those in that region.

I do not like this, but Cruz has said the same. Where do we go now?

There is a huge difference between displaced dying people and illegal aliens crossing in from Central America.

You Pure Americans didn’t (and still don’t) like my religion yet thank Gd you let my grandparents in or I wouldn’t be alive. And countless other survivors from various holocausts came here and helped make America great.

Funny, I though he said weeks ago that we should let in some Syrian Christian Refugees that Obama won’t let in.
He was supported by many here on FR for that stance.

Obama is only allowing Syrian Muslim Refugees to come here from what I’ve read right here on FR.

Does this comment change anything from what Trump has already said? Where do the rest of the Republican Candidates stand on this issue, or do they get a pass?

Whatever, we are months away from the first Vote being cast in a Primary. Anything can happen and it will.

Read the full article before making such a rush to judgment. Geesh, some on here are so quick to read a headline and pounce. Talk about your LIV.

Gosh, I read what he said and thought it was the correct response. He said SEVERAL times that we had our own problems to solve, and acknowledged that Europe was handling it, for now. The opening he left for possibly letting a few refugees in seemed to be a real special exception if there's a unique circumstance.

If he had said a flat-out no, the anti-Trumpistas would be whining that he wasn't leaving open the possibility that there might be some exception in some unique circumstance. I also thought he showed some real compassion for those who might be caught up in a horrific circumstance through no fault of their own.

Hypothetical, you Trump haters: What if monks or nuns or other religious lost their ancient places they'd had for centuries? Would you allow them in the US as a group to continue their traditional lives?

This is a non issue.

“Possibly” and “help as much as possible” are a reasonable way to sound open but not commit to anything.

Excerpts don't tell the whole story now does it.

"Possibly" he says

Trump goes on...

- - - -

"Now, Europe is handling it. Germany has been very generous so far, which is very surprising to me, to be honest with you. But there’s a huge problem, and we should help as much as possible, but we do have to fix our own country.”

We see in the end Trump's ultimate answer is no.

The people fleeing from Libya are mostly sub-saharan Africans, there are also plenty of Afghanis as well.
