Trump can't actually win, can he?
Los Angeles Times ^ | September 6, 2015 | Doyle McManus

Posted on 09/06/2015 10:19:29 AM PDT by Biggirl

I talked with Republican wise men last week — sober establishment strategists who have seen many presidential campaigns come and go — to ask them how long the improbable popularity of Donald Trump can last. Reassure me, I said: He can't actually win, right? Their answers surprised me.

And then we sit back in confused stupor and wonder why we have Obama as president. Because every single time, every conservative runs through a litmus test on ever possible “essential test” that their candidate must pass, in order to be viable to them.

Romney? Sure, he has proven himself, sure he started a fiscally responsible “Romneycare” that was blown up by Democrats and made an abomination of what it originally was - so no; besides he is a Mormon. So, let’s get Obama.

Trump? Hey, he gave money to Hillary while he lived in NYC. His is perhaps the ONLY candidate that cannot be bought. He is financing himself, and he is making issues that every other political was to craven to even consider. Illegals? Yeah, he said what every American was thinking - while every “conservative is still rinsing their shorts after hearing his first comment on building a wall at the border”.

We have 92 Million bums out of the workforce, and the Democrats led the charge, but they did this with the permission of the conservatives who refused to unite, because “The” candidate that was most likely do win, didn’t meet every criteria on their list.

Is Trump perfect? Nope; but he’s a lot closer to what is important to me; than any other candidate has been in at least 12 years.

Even if Trump were to drop out of the race tomorrow...

Millions of us are never going back on the reservation.

I won’t vote for the lessor of two evils ever again.

Trump would not be the first rich man who never ran for office until he ran for POTUS and won.

That wall-o-text isn't going to get read.

Instead of copy and paste, you might consider formatting as well.

I’m conservative and not stupid.
If Trump is the only way to stop the Cheap Labor Express because both parties are conspiring against the people, then it seems like a reasonable thing to accept that he may not be philosophically conservative, but he is philosophically American.

We have to have a President who will enforce the borders and laws.

Of course Trump can win.

That reality should really light a fire under Congress’ collective behinds on conservative issue legislation if they want to keep their precious seats.

The GOPe has already proven how stupid they are. And the conservative voters for voting for them anyway. Never again.

The GOPe are tools of Crony Capitalists with their agents on K Street..

What Crony Capitalist agent will be selected in the primary?..
There are several.. and one that is not..
AND it’s NOT Trump..

Whom IS a Global crony capitalist himself..
Hard to deny it since he BRAGS about it..

Republicans are warring against themselves, rightly so..
What is not spoken is that democrats en mass will vote for TRUMP.. ensureing the Presidency..
IF even a few republicans vote for him..

What is it that democrats love about Donald Trump?..
Well he did say himself he is more of a democrat than republican..

I tend to believe him.. but that is not often stated here.. in these parts..
Iranians say they want to KILL ME, I believe them..
Donald says he is a democrat in heart, I believe that too..

Who does that leave as a Presidential option?..
I’m getting one guy.. with Presidential Hair..

Hey, I resemble that remark!

Knew he was a lefty when I read "anti-immigrant anger". Lefties are incapable of using the word illegal.

The better question is: is he even going to try?

Then you're asking will Trump be just like the GOP choice of 2012? Trump certainly couldn't try less than Mitt.

George W. Bush-43, was supposed to understand Middle-East. After all, his father, Bush-41 had successfully dislodged Saddam from Kuwait. And got PAID for doing it!

So, let me see, what happened in Iraq war by Bush-43....
we sacrifice blood and treasure, thosands of brave young American soldiers maimed and killed, pile on $2,000,000,000,000.00 additional national debt on which we must pay interest every year in PERPETUITY (because we have budget deficits and can’t pay any principle), dismantle dictatorships in Iraq, Syria, Egypt & Libya to be replaced by Islamist regimes every where, give birth to ISIS who now owns lot of Iraqi oil, and now Iran controls what is left of a broken Iraq. And we GOT PAID NOTHING!

I can’t think of anything more stupid than protecting oil flows to China and Japan from the M-E with borrowed money from China & Japan, while we do not need a single barrel of oil from M-E.

That is more awful by orders of magnitude than not knowing names of terrorist leaders at the tip of your tongue. Like Sarah Palin said, we need a tough leader, not a trivial pursuit champ.

Trump will be like the Trump of 2011 and ditch the race when he gets bored.

Trump certainly couldn't try less than Mitt.

Trump endorsed Romney in the primary, then criticized him for being too conservative.
