The role of American politics and politicians is to defend the Constitution. And the essence of that Constitution is to limit the powers of government while protecting the unalienable rights of the people as described in the Declaration of Independence.
But according to a prominent Catholic sister, Pope Francis has a very different view, one which she obviously shares. Appearing on MSNBC's Up With Steve Kornacki today, Sister Simone Campbell said that the Pope was "very clear" in his encyclical. Rather controlling government, he believes the "heart" of politics is "controlling the economy."

His actions, stances, and behavior sure suggest it but many Catholics are defending him the same way that liberals do with Oabama
I would not argue with you. I was merely pointing out a fallacy common today; i.e. an person expert in one field telling us about a field in which he is not an expert. Actors are a prime example, this Pope just joined the fold.
