He did say he hates seeing her put in jail. That means he hates seeing her put in jail. Trump is still correct. What would you have Trump actually do about this? I do not see how anybody not in Congress can actually do anything about it, besides defying the courts and going to jail as she did.
His comments were very weak, “I hate to see her being put in jail. I understand what they’re doing.” One could easily interpret that as condoning/supporting the actions of the judge. I can understand not being “up” on the issue initially but it is becoming a firestorm and Trump risks being burned up by it.
