“Dont you get tired of posting the same things over and over again?”
Isn’t it at all possible that just because these things have been repeated doesn’t mean they’re not true?
Cruz unfortunately is GOPe, though he plays a good game.
What GeronL and nickcarraway and C Edmund Wright and hosepipe don’t want us discussing about Cruz is that if he gets within spitting distance of the Executive Branch, the Dems will launch a birther lawsuit against him.
Don’t believe me? Because no one on the ostensible “right wing” (except Donald Trump in 2011!) would dare challenge Obama on birther stuff, that the Dems wouldn’t challenge Cruz?
Cruz knows he is a liability. He’s a BushMan. So’s the wife. He caved on TPP, and there are other “GOPe tripwires” on Cruz as well. Sad, but true.
H/T Black Agnes, btw.

His FB page has some interesting posts.

A lot of people think he’s a jerk. I’m one of them.
The trivialities of the interview are not the point. The article I linked is pointing out the anti Trump Putsch by the Establishment, and how Hewitt is being used by the GOPe (again) in this election cycle.
I noticed in 08 how Hewitt was a GOPe tool with his Mitt crush.
How about asking Hugh Hewitt, Michael Medved, George Will, etc. about their favorite brand of sherry and their favorite harpsichord tune--to prove their sherry-and-harpsichord conservative (the counterpart of wine-and-cheese liberal) bona fides.
You can’t be serious.
Oh, geez, I’m sorry! Is there anyway I can delete the offending post?
Then don’t vote for him.
He a moderate jerk. That doesn’t mean he can’t ask questions in an interview. He explained the difference and Trump still didn’t get it.
Not interested in calling people names, I’m just sick of paid trolls messing up the marketplace of ideas here on Free Republic.
Trump is less than ideal. But he’s not Establishment, and that’s what this Hewitt thing proves.
That is the real story, and what we should be looking at.
The author is casting a wide net when he describes various follks as “the same general ideological world view as Jeb Bush, George Will, Rupert Murdoch, Wall Street Journal, etc.”
Human Events has been around for a lot longer thgan Salem Communications, and the tone hasn’t changed all that much. Pat Buchanan and Walter Williams are hardly pals of John Ellis Bush and George Will. Other writers like Ann Coulter and Michael Barone may be more establishment, but neither appear to take marching orders from the like of John Ellis Bush.
I am suspicious of anyone who claims to be the one wearing the “clear glasses”. I like Free Republic in large part because this site puts it ALL out there, and I get to view through my own glasses. If they aren’t clear, it’s because I haven’t wiped them.
Quds and Kurds over the phone sound the same.
I will be watching to see how many of the Terrorists either die or are retired in the next 16 months, Trump is right it doesnt seem to matter since he wants them all dead anyway.
HH in a recent program was anti Trump, he should recuse himself as a debate moderator. I dont like biased moderators in a position to Me Gyn Crowley the debate and then all we talk about is the F-ing slimy questions.
How come they dont ask Jebba the Hut why his wife is here 27 years and doesnt speak English at home?
Recuse yourself HH, or Trump should force him out since I would not go to a debate that was a rigged mine field.
No Trump No big ratings. Nobody tunes in for the Moderators.
The Establishment is the Establishment; I imagine it all boils down to who has how much money at stake if Jeb wins and Trump loses.
Yes, I am serious. The Donald says whatever is on his mind without even beginning to think through the implications. He is a braggart and a bully.
Again, using the Hewitt interview as an example, the supposed gotcha questions are not. They are questions that anyone with any acquaintance with the Middle East should be able to answer. Trump’s response of “well, I’ll learn them before I take up residence in the White House, and I’ll hire the right experts to advise me” is hardly comforting.
I expect high things of my elected officials. I don’t want to settle for less. What does Trump offer other than braggadocio and intimidation?
All true, but then Trump also had fair warning and should’ve avoided the trap. He better not make the same mistake at the debate.
Yes, the story is not what Hewitt asked Trump, it’s how and why Hewitt is being used by the Establishment as they have been cozy for decades.
This isn’t unique to Trump.
It happened in the Mississippi Senate runoff and it will happen to Senator Cruz if he ever rises to the level of being a legitimate threat to the establishment.
The GOPe attack apparatus needs to be permanently dismantled.
Agreed. This is when his old reliable but “colorful” friend Roger Stone needs to step in again to help.
