Nikki Haley aligns herself with Lindsey Graham wing of S.C. GOP

I first became suspicious of South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley when Mitt Romney came to South Carolina and serenaded her with "Happy Birthday to You" while Nikki stood there blushing and preening, like a teenager on a first date. Not knowing very much about her politics, I didn't think anything more of it, until yesterday, when Haley attacked Donald Trump.

I attack Donald Trump too, but in a good way, raising the inconsistencies of his record. Haley, on the other hand, attacks him from the left for being too tough on illegal aliens and falsely claiming that Trump is against all immigrants.“Every time someone criticizes him, he goes and makes a political attack back,” Haley said when asked about Trump during an appearance at the National Press Club. “That’s not who we are as Republicans. That’s not what we do.”

Republicans don't respond to political attacks? That's not what Republicans do? Well, it's true enough, Romney didn't respond when Obama attacked him. Perhaps that's something that Republicans should do.

“Republicans need to remember that the fabric of America came from these legal immigrants,” she said. “If you want to talk about tackling illegal immigration, then let’s talk about it, but we don’t need to attack so many millions of people who came here . . . and did it the right way, like my parents.”

Trump has not attacked legal immigrants; this conflation of legal and illegal immigrants is an argument made by leftists, and Jeb Bush, to portray Trump as anti-legal immigration.

Anybody who poses for a picture with Sharpton as Haley has done deserves zero respect.

“Republicans need to remember that the fabric of America came from these legal immigrants,” she said.

No, the fabric of America was in place well before the Statue of Liberty was erected, and many decades before the "nation of immigrants" cheerleading started.

Sounds like Haley took one of the history courses that left out the early history of the US. Maybe she needs to study it starting around 1600.

They both prefer an open primary state so that demos and liberals can keep nominating them on the republican side.

Our Founding Fathers were right when they wanted natural born citizens as elected officials. They didn’t go far enough. Nicky should go back to India, Valarie Jarrett should go back to Iran and Maggie Marshall needs to go back to South Africa. Deport them all!!!!!

Has India elected any Americans to rule over them? NO. Enough with the Hindu Governors. They are not, and can not be, guardians of our nation and culture. We will end up being screwed by them, every time.

She turned out to be a Kelly Ayotte clone. They both rode in on the back of the Tea Party.

Not living in South Carolina and only having read the fawning stories in the press about Gov. Haley, I really don’t know a lot about her. However I do know she has been a state official since 2005/ First as a member of the House and since Jan. 2011 as Governor. In the ten years she has worked on and around the capital building and grounds, she never noticed a Confederate Battle flag and monument until if became a cause deJour for the perpetually outraged, Then she acted like Sherman marching to the sea and got rid of both. I guess she and Lindsey Graham are really of the same political party. Proud Republicans.

“Another phony who ran as a Tea Party candidate.”

The problem The Tea Party has is accurately vetting candidates. A lot of the people they support really have no background to check. Again though, Trump’s candidacy is smoking out the imposters along with the worthless turds in the GOPe. As far as Haley is concerned, she should be voted out of office.
