I’m not sure it JUSTIFIED seizure of the signs, no.
I think it’s inevitable that the subject considers him/herself as the victim of a small robbery.
If they have enough time in many cases they ask the subject to move further away, and keep their sign.
If, though, such signs suddenly appear very close in, the reaction is very strong and will become stronger if the person shows very strong disinclination to relocate and or to surrender the sign(s).
This has happened numerous times to freepers, and in one case very long ago the Freeps were confined behind barbed wire about 1/4 mile away from the VIP appearance.
Let’s keep this straight, the security guard is pressing charges against his Mexican attacker. IMHO, he should have hit him harder.

He didn’t steal the sign. He got trapped by the banner as he tried to enter Trump Towers and just reached for the nearest object to keep from falling.
Most of the posters here have already convicted the guy who was punched. Judging just from the video, it appears that the guy was trying to recover stolen property when he was assaulted by a strong armed robber.

This is a lowgrade form of warfare. These scummy invaders are never in the right. Even when they are right they are wrong. They are stealing our country and there is nothing, nothing that is to bad to do to them.
Why was the guard walking away with his sign?
First of all, the security guard was walking towards the door, probably legally carrying. He was attacked from behind. The guy didn’t try to get at the signs, he just put his arms around his waist, maybe trying to take him to the ground. How was the guy (guard) supposed to know what was going on, or that it was the guy holding the signs?
The guard spun around and slapped him away. Pretty restrained and valid in my book.
Btw, those folks are getting paid to do what they do.☺

They’ve been intentionally attempting to block folks from Trumps front door. This is not the first time.
