Cruz: I Call Upon Every Believer...to Stand with Kim Davis
TedCruz.org ^ | 9/3/2015 | Ted Cruz

HOUSTON, Texas – U.S. Sen. Cruz, R-Texas, today released the following statement regarding the arrest of Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis:

“Today, judicial lawlessness crossed into judicial tyranny. Today, for the first time ever, the government arrested a Christian woman for living according to her faith. This is wrong. This is not America.

“I stand with Kim Davis. Unequivocally. I stand with every American that the Obama Administration is trying to force to chose between honoring his or her faith or complying with a lawless court opinion.

“In dissent, Chief Justice Roberts rightly observed that the Court’s marriage opinion has nothing to do with the Constitution. Justice Scalia observed that the Court’s opinion was so contrary to law that state and local officials would choose to defy it.

“For every politician — Democrat and Republican — who is tut-tutting that Davis must resign, they are defending a hypocritical standard. Where is the call for the mayor of San Francisco to resign for creating a sanctuary city — resulting in the murder of American citizens by criminal illegal aliens welcomed by his lawlessness?

“Where is the call for President Obama to resign for ignoring and defying our immigration laws, our welfare reform laws, and even his own Obamacare?

“When the mayor of San Francisco and President Obama resign, then we can talk about Kim Davis.

“Those who are persecuting Kim Davis believe that Christians should not serve in public office. That is the consequence of their position. Or, if Christians do serve in public office, they must disregard their religious faith–or be sent to jail.

“Kim Davis should not be in jail. We are a country founded on Judeo-Christian values, founded by those fleeing religious oppression and seeking a land where we could worship God and live according to our faith, without being imprisoned for doing so.

“I call upon every Believer, every Constitutionalist, every lover of liberty to stand with Kim Davis. Stop the persecution now.”

That’s exactly the right, applicable biblical reference for this.

The “king” is demanding that we bow down to their Gay Mirage,
and we refuse.

OK, so we “stand with her” - what do we do about the tyrants?

Show up at on their lawns?

What state and/or federal law did Ms. Davis break.

Absent any, it’s time to fit the judge for a coat of tar and feathers.

It is the United States Supreme Court, five members thereof, who violated the law! They violated the First and Tenth Amendments of the Constitution. Clerk Davis is following the law of Kentucky, which prohibits marriage between members of the same sex.

This is not the hill to make your stand on. Pick a different one.

I disagree. Judicial tyranny is a hill that must be taken. Homo-marriage has never been approved by voters when there has been a referendum. Judges have been overruling the republic for far too long. California has seen judges reject their votes many times. This homo-issue of protected class was taken up by the state of Colorado in 1992 and the court over ruled a state constitutional amendment passed by the people of Colorado. In 2003 the USSC gave us the federal overreach of Lawrence v Texas but assured us that it would not lead to Homo-marriage. Not even a decade and half later the USSC slid down that slippery slope with Justice Kagan voting in a way she assured the senate she would not. The states and the people have consistently voted that marriage is one man and one woman, only the tyrants in black-robes have foisted this plague on the country.

Ted Cruz is correct this is not a enumerated power given to the federal government and is itself a violation of the first amendment. What is more is that the court has selectively enforced its rulings and "laws" when it comes to their pet issues like immigration.

Ted is taking on a corrupt congress and an out of control judiciary. That is two of three branches of the federal government. If he is elected and wields the authority of the executive branch, he will need to battle congressional turn coats and cowards, the corrupted courts and the shadow government of the bureaucracy. Each of these hills must be won if our children and grandchildren are to know liberty!

True. However, when man’s laws conflicts with God’s then God’s laws must be obeyed. Acts 5:29— “We ought to obey God rather than men”.

I tend to think Cruz might be in contact with Davis Attorneys or she herself to assist them....he's a constitutionalist and knows full well how she can win this. As for what do we do about the tyrants....exactly what we're doing now....we're fighting them....in this election as well as in the courts....and supporting those who are doing so....

She’s only been in office since January. She should have been able to look down the road and see this was going to happen, and make her plans accordingly.

Really? So, just feed Christians to the shredder, eh?

You're on the wrong website.

“Relatively small issue”???? How can a first amendment issue be relatively small?

If you don't know Scripture enough to realize the source of that quote, you're probably on the wrong website.

I WILL obey God rather than men. I stand with Kim Davis.

The real problem is JAILING her for non-compliance. Impeachment is the proper process for removing an elected official for refusal to perform legal (if immoral) procedures, not imprisonment.

NEVER, NEVER FORGET THIS PICTURE.

This is the day the Federal government began arresting Christians for practicing their faith.

God bless her. She is standing firm against an outlaw court. She is standing firm for Kentucky law and for natural law as understood for millenia.

The judge is a renegade who should be impeached.

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: (Rom 13:1-3)

Well, yep, I guess we just need to do EXACTLY what FedGov tells us! Throw babies into the shredder? CHECK! Approve abominations against God? CHECK!

Go and learn what Acts 5:29 means.
