He is our best chance to preserve American exceptionalism for the next generation
HOUSTON, Texas The Cruz Campaign today released a video featuring Iowa conservative activist Steve Deace explaining why Ted Cruz is the candidate that conservatives should unify behind, and how he has what it takes to win the 2016 GOP primary and general elections.
Ted Cruz has proven that we can build the organization and raise the money that it takes to actually win national elections without compromising our principles at all, Deace says. He is the one that can go into all the various factions of our base, whether its libertarians, whether its small government conservatives, national security conservatives, evangelicals like myself. He is the one that can put the winning coalition back together again.
Deace adds, This is the most important election of our lifetimes, but I dont mean the general election. This primary is. We need to put up a candidate who actually believes in American exceptionalism and liberty, and will fight to defend those values. And then in a general election, has the talent and capability to move hearts and minds in a national platform of a campaign and in those debates. I believe Ted Cruz has the ability to do that. I think he is our best chance to preserve American exceptionalism for the next generation.

Hi my name is Steve Deace. Im a nationally syndicated talk show host, columnist for the Washington Times and Conservative Review. When Im not doing conservative media, Im doing conservative activism. Its because the country is at stake. When I go home at night, Ive got three children 14, 10, and 8 that we are going to hand the future of the country off to. So thats really a focus between my wife and I, thats why we do what we do, and its also why we chose to endorse Sen. Ted Cruz.
Ive sat here the last couple of cycles with a front row seat to what happens when we dont coalesce and unite behind a principled candidate. Ive watched what happens the establishment splits our vote, then we are divided the entire way through. Ultimately, a weak establishment candidate wins a plurality not a majority of GOP primary voters, doesnt motivate our base. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. The country goes to the left. Stop me if youve heard this one before.
This is an end to the false choice between principles and electability. For a long time, the Karl Rove, nihilistic wing of this party has tried to sell us that we cant stand for anything, because then we wont win any elections.
Ted Cruz has proven that we can build the organization and raise the money that it takes to actually win national elections without compromising our principles at all, if we do so with talented leaders who also have effective campaigns and staffs around them that know what theyre doing, that are professionals. And the Cruz campaign has that.
I know many of the candidates in this race on a first name basis, and it is just clear to me that the man of the hour is Ted Cruz. He is the one that can go into all the various factions of our base, whether its libertarians, whether its small government conservatives, national security conservatives, evangelicals like myself. He is the one that can put the winning coalition back together again.
And the last couple of cycles when weve not had that candidate, whats happened is, each of those groups based on what their priorities are, they go their own way, and the establishment candidate takes advantage of the divide and conquer strategy.
The country cannot afford for us to blow this again. This is the most important election of our lifetimes, but I dont mean the general election. This primary is. We need to put up a candidate who is not a corporatist shill, is not a small p progressive, but actually believes in American exceptionalism and liberty, and will fight to defend those values. And then in a general election, has the talent and capability to move hearts and minds in a national platform of a campaign and in those debates.
I believe Ted Cruz has the ability to do that. I think he is our best chance to preserve American exceptionalism for the next generation. And I would urge everybody watching this, do not wait until the end. Ted Cruz has already put together the resources, the resume and the organization it takes to move the country back to liberty. Lets get on board now, lets unite now so that we can take on Washington, D.C. tomorrow.

Excellent!
I love the way he describes the GOP establishment:
“the Karl Rove nihilistic wing of this party”.
Thanks for keeping us up on everything happening with Cruz, he will be our next President there just is no other acceptable outcome.
Good post, thanks!
You’re very welcome!

Wasn’t Deace a Huckabee guy just weeks ago?
He also didn’t have nice things to say about Herman Cain, joining in the campaign against him.
The only thing Iowa conservatives have given us is ethanol gasoline.
I for one pledge not to listen to anything coming out of the Iowa caucuses.
From Politico, Deace had selected Cruz from a final list of four candidates: The senator beat out Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. The criteria, he said, included determining which candidate had the ability to coalesce the conservative base and whos going to truly defend our religious freedom.
He was a Huckabee guy 8 years ago.
Ted Cruz is the only candidate who spoke at the Iowa Agriculture summit in opposition to ethanol subsidies.
Deace lives on a different planet where Trump isn’t galvanizing conservatives while Cruz lags far behind even Carson, and where Cruz, evidently, didn’t compromise on immigration, declaring his willingness to grant legal status to illegal aliens while strictly defining “amnesty’ solely as “a pathway to citizenship.” IOW, Cruz’s position is not much better than Jeb’s. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Cruz’s problems here.
Conservative when no one else is looking? Well, Conservative if you don’t look closely.
He is good.
Why do you think he is only at 5 percent?
Who then would be a great conservative alternative to Ted Cruz that would be a viable candidate who is fighting for our religious rights, the fight against abortion, the constitution like Ted Cruz has ?
Give us a list please of conservative candidates that are actually running and who is viable.
If you don't fight against illegal aliens and open borders, your abortion and religious rights issues don't matter.
There is only one alternative. The person RIGHT on immigration: Trump!
If these other candidates would just take his issue, that would be great. They've demonstrated they don't want to, except their willingness to obfuscate their positions.
On yes the issue of gay marriage and abortion does matter.
In the Old Testament in prophecy since Israel was rebellious going after false gods and wickedness God allowed the enemy to come across Israel’s borders and overwhelm them.
Forgieners coming in and living in Israel’s walls was a judgement on Israel from God.
So to is our problem with being overwhelmed by illegal aliens because of abortion and gay marriage, and America turning it’s back on God.
The problem IS NOT the illegal aliens, the problem is America is rotten to the core, the whole system is rotten.
The fence or wall will stop some of them, but it won’t fix our culture and society as a whole because our society is rotten to the core.
