Jeb’s Sudden Free Fall
National Review Online ^ | September 1, 2015 | JIM GERAGHTY

Posted on 09/02/2015 6:34:40 AM PDT by Hojczyk

The former Florida governor’s poll numbers are in a tailspin. Can he come back?

In December, Bush famously contended that the Republican nominee must be willing to “lose the primary to win the general [election].” But the notion that GOP presidential nominees lose nationwide when they position themselves too far to the Right during primaries isn’t borne out by the data, and primary voters aren’t frightened of Trump’s lackluster showing in general election polls — at least, not yet.

If Bush’s poll numbers remain lousy and his debate performances fail to improve, people may wonder where his campaign is going. The Jeb we’ve seen in recent weeks — soporific in his body language and unable to muster a response to Trump’s rise — isn’t going to climb back to the front of the field. To win the nomination, he’ll to have to become a better candidate between now and when Republicans start casting primary votes.

“Trump has put all other GOP candidates in the same blender — they are all indistinguishably small,” concludes Castellanos. “At some point, one of these boys or girls is going to have to step up, have a big alpha-dog battle with Trump and seize this race by the throat. Kill the king, become the king. The next debate seems as good a time as any to me.”

This implies he was at the top at some point. Maybe in NRO’s wet dreams.

Well, he was.

In the very first polling that was released, Jeb was running around 20% -- and in 1st place.

And, since then, he has indeed been in "free fall".

The polls for the general that I have seen show Trump doing quite well. The words “lackluster” and “Donald Trump” do not belong in the same sentence.

His super rich donors are probably buying their Depends by the truck load from Costco.

Not only are they losing money by the boatload, Trump’s supporters know who they are. After Trump/Cruz are sworn in, in Jan 2017, these Jeb big funding clowns might need to move to a safe country for them, like the new Russia.

Having Jebby as the nominee would stimulate voters like I was once stimulated, when as teenagers, my gorgeous girlfriend and I were enjoying a rare moment of blissful pleasure, when her bedroom door was blown open by her Mother, who came home early from work!

C’mon Jebby, do you really want to be the guy responsible for a national case of blue balls also known as “electus interruptus.”

I think they are still out there, but mostly in retirement. Many of them were Hillary supporters back in the PUMA days. Where they stand now... who knows? I think there are enough of them they could tip a balance, and a lot of them are in blue areas too.

Bush noted his wife, Columba, was born in Mexico — and that one of his daughters-in-law (nuera, one of the few words he stumbled on in Spanish) is Iraqi-Canadian. His young granddaughters, he said, are "Texan-Mexican-Canadian-Iraqi Americans."

“Jeb is the one who said “The era of Reagan is over” - remember?”

So is “The Era of Bushes!”

That family seems a bit eager to un-white themselves. Dynastic ambition or self hatred?

Betraying the Reagan Revolution is the core of that family’s agenda. It began on January 20, 1989.

YES, Unfortunately it is undeniable fact that “Poppy” Boosh was the stone that the GOPe hung around Ronald Reagan's neck in exchange for their “support.” Ronnie should have sent him on an eight year “mission” to some far away place. He should never have been part of the Reagan Administration! Poppy was a CFR/Bilderberger/One World “plant.”

He’s dead Jim.

Your GOPe/RINO/WSJ/NR candidate is a stinker.

BECAUSE of the liberal policy positions you and he hold together.

Get out of the way, and let Conservatives Lead.

Yes he was. I hope he lives long enough to see his efforts fail. What we are seeing might be the beginning.

I think Trump can pull a lot of unionized Reagan Democrats with his anti illegal immigration stance.
Not to mention his strong and sincere pro-American stance.
