Jeb’s Sudden Free Fall
National Review Online ^ | September 1, 2015 | JIM GERAGHTY

Posted on 09/02/2015 6:34:40 AM PDT by Hojczyk

The former Florida governor’s poll numbers are in a tailspin. Can he come back?

In December, Bush famously contended that the Republican nominee must be willing to “lose the primary to win the general [election].” But the notion that GOP presidential nominees lose nationwide when they position themselves too far to the Right during primaries isn’t borne out by the data, and primary voters aren’t frightened of Trump’s lackluster showing in general election polls — at least, not yet.

If Bush’s poll numbers remain lousy and his debate performances fail to improve, people may wonder where his campaign is going. The Jeb we’ve seen in recent weeks — soporific in his body language and unable to muster a response to Trump’s rise — isn’t going to climb back to the front of the field. To win the nomination, he’ll to have to become a better candidate between now and when Republicans start casting primary votes.

“Trump has put all other GOP candidates in the same blender — they are all indistinguishably small,” concludes Castellanos. “At some point, one of these boys or girls is going to have to step up, have a big alpha-dog battle with Trump and seize this race by the throat. Kill the king, become the king. The next debate seems as good a time as any to me.”

“Can he come back?”

If he does and brings Terri Schaivo back with him, I’ll vote for him.

*SPIT*

Maybe I’m wrong, but the only polls on Trump I’ve seen are with registered Republicans. I haven’t seen any polls on independents and/or Democrats. I think Trump can pull a lot of unionized Reagan Democrats with his anti illegal immigration stance.

Jeb Bush IS the poster child for the GOP-E. They have lied to, manipulated, and demeaned their own voters for decades now.

No matter what Bush might claim about ANY other candidate, he is on the side of the GOP that lies and does not follow through.

So, do we get fooled again by those who talk the talk but don’t walk the walk?

There is simply one truth that has to be said.

NOBODY WANTED ANOTHER BUSH. NOT JEB, NOT ANY BUSH, OR ANY BUSHLIKE CLONE.

There, that was easy and not hard to understand.

unionized Reagan Democrats

I think Reagan Democrats are a dying breed and only exist in the fond memories of conservative websites like these. In reality, their numbers are probably insignificant.

Jeb’s Sudden Free Fall

Senor el Jebbo represents "business as usual" and Americans have awakened to the realization we need action to undo the kenyan/indonesian commie's damage.

I think El Jeb should quadruple-down and do the rest of his campaign speeches in Spanish.

And wear a Sombrero.

And be accompanied by a mariachi band.

His numbers were always based on him being inevitable.

Now, where have I heard that word before?

Jeb’s big problem is:

1. His principles.....he has none.
2. His track record....confirming that he has no principles and that he contradicts himself as regularly as most people change their socks.

To win the nomination, he’ll to have to become a better candidate between now and when Republicans start casting primary votes.

The guy is a reflexive mush mouth who is not particularly telegenic, doesn't speak all that well, insulted the base on a weekly basis, made dumb proclamations daily. You can't fix that between debates without looking more stupid than you are.

The last name gives him his only voters. It also ensures that he will never carry more than 15% of the GOP electorate. Whenever I hear a quote from him, I just wonder if he really wants to run at all.

Sudden?! LOL

Jeb didn't go into a "Sudden Free Fall," the MSM just suddenly reached the point when they had to report on it so they wouldn't look as dim as he does.

He is one of those kind of guys that polls well but nobody knows anybody who actually supports him in the primary.

. . . and primary voters aren’t frightened of Trump’s lackluster showing in general election polls — at least, not yet.

Gee, I wonder if that is because Jeb's showing in general election polls is equally pathetic, if not more so.

Despite all the kissy face between the families, no Bush has ever beaten a Clinton.

There is no way another Bush is going to be elected as President. It gives the election to the Dems.
