Sheesh, we teen-agers used to frequently drive to Fox Lake (55 miles northwest of Chicago) from our suburban homes outside of Chicago for warm, idyllic days of summer swimming, picniking and fun.
Town of about 12,000 souls, located in the beautiful Chain O'Lakes countryside, featuring rolling green hills and lots of forest preserves. Middle and higher-income homes and summer cottages scattered around.
No place is sacred anymore......makes me sad to think about such a tragedy.

Now saying three suspects. Not sure if officer died. Officer died after the shooting. I'm actually familiar with that area. I used to drive through it as I went to visit my grandmother. It's typically not an area that would see a crime like this. Everything about this shooting in that area stinks like hell to me. I'm thinking it was a setup (read that: execution.)
His name is Lt. Charles Joseph Gliniewicz, and he had a family with young children. He was also former Military, serving with honor between 1980 and 2007.
