A Response to Free Republic Trump Critics
Vanity

Posted on 08/31/2015 12:43:37 AM PDT by Behind the Blue Wall

Why Trump?

1. Illegal immigration is the only issue; if it's not stopped soon, America will become like California -- a demographic one-party state.

2. Politics is about name-recognition and none of the other candidates besides Trump has the name recognition to challenge Jeb Bush or Hillary Clinton.

Therefore, Trump is the only candidate with a chance to win who has promised to do the only thing that matters.

Winning a presidential election requires one to possess charisma and be telegenic. You can’t manufacture it, you are born with it.

Trump has it in spades. He is an imposing figure at 6’ 4” height and in very good physical condition being a scratch golfer which requires enormous strength and agility. Every one who meets him in person comes away liking him. That is the definition of charisma.

Jeb lacks charisma. So does Walker. Cruz lacks it too. Only Rubio has charisma but he hurt himself by conspiring with the gang of 8 on amnesty to illegals. He can’t unring that bell.

The immigration issue is something the other Republicans will have to pretend to care about to stop Trump or perhaps the GOPe will try to drum up some emotional diversionary issue.

I expect both cards will be played along with a massive media campaign to destroy Trump.

I beg to differ. ALL other republican AND democrat candidates do not have 2 big brass ones to speak up against illegals because those illegals are mostly either Hispanic, Chinese or Indians.

I hope you know I was attacking the TDS folks who are running around shouting that Trump wants to hike taxes on the evil rich and is the equivalent to Sanders.

Obama never ran a hot dog stand at profit. Trump has grown his inheritance by a factor of 250 in main street real economy. When you compare the two, you display your shallow understanding of economic issues.

Trump is a winner. We need a winner. Purist he may not be but we do not need a martyr. I think many naysayers are miffed that their candidate has been shut out by Trump. Worse, he does not hesitate to point out their flaws. Trump is running against his Republican challengers and none were prepared for this. He's expanding the base, which also undermines many of the also rans.

Instead of criticizing Trump, these also rans should look in the mirror and reflect on why they are ignored. Are they out of step, tilting at the wrong windmills, or just not likeable? Are they even in the race for the right reasons? Seriously, what chance do any have of winning the nomination today? 1%?! 5%? Even 10%?! Where is their demonstration of commonsense to say they cannot reasonably win and get out or admit they are their for ulterior reasons?

Last I heard, Walker was obsessed with a wall with Canada. Whats up with that?

Some truth would be refreshing.

"The Canadian border got dragged into the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign on Sunday, with a prominent candidate appearing to entertain the notion of building a giant wall between the two countries.

The idea was raised in a talk-show interview with Republican contender Scott Walker, who after being pressed twice by the interviewer appeared to agree it was worth considering.

"Some people have asked us about that in New Hampshire. They raised some very legitimate concerns, including some law-enforcement folks that brought that up to me at one of our town-hall meetings about a week and a half ago," the Wisconsin governor said during an interview with NBC's Meet The Press.

"So that is a legitimate issue for us to look at."

Walker didn't dwell on the issue. He quickly steered the conversation to the Middle East, rebuilding the military, and national security. The exchange about Canada never even made it to air, and was edited out of the interview highlights that ran on Meet The Press and was simply posted on NBC's website. Source
