A Response to Free Republic Trump Critics
Vanity

Posted on 08/31/2015 12:43:37 AM PDT by Behind the Blue Wall

Why Trump?

1. Illegal immigration is the only issue; if it's not stopped soon, America will become like California -- a demographic one-party state.

2. Politics is about name-recognition and none of the other candidates besides Trump has the name recognition to challenge Jeb Bush or Hillary Clinton.

Therefore, Trump is the only candidate with a chance to win who has promised to do the only thing that matters.

Actually, I'd say he was closer to the mark than you. Immigration (and all the parts of it) are the consequential issues. All the others are secondary.

We can agree or disagree on candidates and issues. These debates assume our votes are viable vehicles for change...as someone once said, when we get angry, we don't riot...we vote.

That only works if our votes count. Combine voter fraud with open borders...hell, Obama has been advertising for them, telling them how to safely cross, flying in non citizens.

We may have already reached a tipping point where we can't effectively vote for change. If not, the next eight years will surely get us there.

That's the opposite of a LIV. Your comment does not reflect well upon you.

Lindsey Graham is another. Just, sorry Lindsey, it’s not in your cards, sister.

Plus, people will probably be uncomfortable with the first "lady" being a rotating assignment supplied by rentboy.

Trump is like a tall glass of milk on a hot day, a bad choice.

Yes. I'd much rather have a tall glass of Billy Beer, or Bushy Beer./sarc

(BTW, it's "hear hear" not "here here")

To be a scratch golfer, your average drive has to be 250 yards plus. Try hitting 5 drives on the range as hard as you can, with every ounce of strength in your body and you will find out it is very hard to average 250.

Eisenhower was the first candidate that the press referred to as charismatic.

I don’t know.

Lincoln never struck me as someone who doesn’t look like a president.

Walker sure as heck does not look like a president at all.

It’s not just that picture either. He has no presence whatsoever.

I agree that Trump is the only one who can win.

And I also agree that the GOPE has to be defeated before the Democrats can be defeated.

Heck, the GOPE is acting like the Democrats personal little body guards at this point.

Golf is old man’s game if you can’t break 85. 98% of seniors can’t break 85 on a regulation course. Try walking 18 holes pushing your bag cart over a slightly hilly course. It is 7 miles of walking minimum. Then tell me if it is old man’s game. Most seniors I know can barely handle 9 hole rounds walking. I gave up walking 18 holes at age 74. Now it is 9 holes walking and 9 holes riding in a electric cart.

Trump is a scratch golfer which is almost close to a professional golfer, and those folks are mostly under 40. So to be a scratch golfer, it is not a old man’s game. Tiger wood is not even 40, and he is already over the hill in golf.

What is going for Trump is that he does not touch alcohol and cigarettes. Both are slow but sure killers. High blood pressure is a normal result of age. Our arteries do not stay supple and get increasingly rigid as we age. However mild blood pressure is easy to control with medications. I am certain Trump has a good doctor to monitor his health.

>>So it appears that Trump may be just saying things to get elected.<<

And we would be worse off with a Jeb Bush, John Kasich, Rand Paul, or any of the other RINOs, how? We KNOW that they’ll stab us in the back. Try something different; we might be pleasantly surprised.

BTW, I am NOT committed to Trump or anybody else, just saying that let it work itself out without anger.

At this point I am leaning away from Cruz and very heavily towards Trump.

While I like Cruz, he just isn’t getting the job done running for president, and I find myself very trouble with his vote in favor of Corker’s Iran surrender bill.

I am not buying the excuse that McConnell deceived him or anyone else into voted for that trash.

1 - don’t trust that he’ll actually do anything
2 - name recognition gets built over the course of an election, at this point all the candidates have it

And in the end he’s just a liar, a constant party switcher, and self aggrandizing blow hard. Nobody has any idea what he thinks and believes or what he’ll do if he wins.

Exactly . that’s the point Ann Coulter makes in her new book.
Immigration is the only issue because without deporting the illegals we do lost the country to leftists/socialism forever and all the liberal policies like abortion will be cemented for forever. Good point. You said it in a few words but that’s what is needed . And Trump is the only one with the courage do deport illegals ,build a wall etc. excellent post

Yes. Excellent post.

Trump is the only one running that isn't owned by rich internationalist donors and foreign countries like Mexico and China.

Only Trump can save America now.

I agree the country is not the same as the America of our youth.

and it has changed because there are 60 million foreign invaders

that democrats have moved to live into the USA precisely to transform

the USA into exactly the world of evil and darkness that you
describe . and we can see the line of the graph of the decline towards a tyrannical socialist state that makes the world
of Orwell's 1984 seem like a wonderful place

You know, people say this a lot: that they don’t believe Trump. So I say, show me your candidate’s most forceful statement on the incalculable human toll taken on American citizens by the invading horde. Cite for me where he has spoken up for the victims of murder, rape, child abuse/molestation, etc. Show me his vow to staunch the invading flood of criminals once and for all.

Crickets.

This runs counter to what people say who know Trump personally.

Immigration is of vast importance but it is no more important than many other issues. A presidency (and congress) based in the constitution and its restrictions are equally important. Religious liberty is very important. The fact that its in the very first amendment speaks to its importance. Federal overreach and state sovereignty are important. The 2nd amendment is important. The right to life is important. There are a multitude of issues that are equally important to border control. Fixating on one while ignoring the ongoing progressivism only continues to push America further to the left.

Well said.
