These are our companies, and they employ thousands of people in the US. Yes, this is industrial policyYea "ours" until they decide they aren't. If these companies can't compete it's not the job of lower paid workers to prop up their overpaid workers with their tax dollars.
If they need a loan, they can do like the rest of us are forced to do when we need money.Yes, this is industrial policy - deal with it.
Take your "industrial policy" and shove it snarky...Deal with that.
Me too.
Try Mexifornia; that should probably be a better business climate for you, GE.
That’s some good info. Thanks. I didn’t know about the LEDs.
What will GE do when President Trump slaps a 50% Tariff on Imported Goods made with Slave labor?
Yeah, go look at the big box home improvement stores’ web sites, or their actual brick and mortar stores. LEDs are starting to take over the market and they’re very price competitive with CFLs now. They will get increasingly so as more are made, and they don’t release a ton of mercury when they break, nor do they cause cancer at close range.
GE helped ram through the CFL law because they’d invested in plants making CFLs overseas and they couldn’t make a profit with their existing incandescent bulb lines and plants any more. Thankfully, people hated CFLs so much that they pushed LED research and we’re now in a position to watch the CFLs potentially get wiped out.
GE already has locomotive production set up in Fort Weird.
I call BS. I doubt any corporation would consider an irrelevant factor like the voting record of the local congressman in choosing a place for their headquarters.
From your lips to God’s ears. : )
Isn’t GE a big time union capitulator???
Unions are a bit of a pariah in Texas...They are not totally gone, but their strength is not too good here...
Maybe the hope was to move here to Texas and change the equation, in their (unions) favor???
And our Texas delegation, minus Cornyn, stood up to their BS???
I’m just speculating...The Texas democrats in our legislative delegation are surely in support of this infection, so that’s something to throw into the mixing bowl...
Picking Hensarling out of this bunch proves that they can just roll the dice when it comes to nagging on anything republican (or conservative, to a point) from Texas...
Just me, shooting from the hip...
ding ding ding ding, winner winner winner winner...
I see to many foreign plates on vehicles driving around our state...
Just because we are making things more business friendly I this state doesn’t mean you should just come here to take advantage of that condition...And bring your political comforts to what we worked long and hard to steer more to the right...It is still a work in progress...
Move to New York, I hear they got sweet deals for tax free business startups for ten (10) years!!! Oh boy!!!
Wait till the chickens come to roost on that in a decade...Wow!!!
Do I need a “/s” tag on this one??? ;-)
Has the “gas bag” (Trump) really said he would do that???
Just curious...I’ve tried to ignore the pontification-ing of this particular candidate, but alas, I fail, miserably...
Everyone seems so infatuated with this guy, its almost like watching a reality show...Before I change the channel...
;-)
