I’m so sorry that GE doesn’t want to come to Texas because of this. /s

Isn’t GE just another tentacle of the DNC? Texas probably really want them there.

Time to play hardball with the corporate elites. The GOP should stop supporting big business and worry more about the American worker.

Might be time to short GE and other corporations who are basing their businesses on PC emotional clap trap than actually doing business and making their shareholders money.

We don’t need any more government dependents in Texas. Can’t boycott them because we never rbuy any of their lousy products anyway.

Like GM, the “G” in GE now stands for “Government.”

I support the Ex-Im Bank, even though this goes against conservative theory.

The fact is, European companies are supported by European governments, and it is impossible for our large national companies to compete with this. If we don’t help Boeing and GE, then AirBus and Siemens will make most of the international sales. These are our companies, and they employ thousands of people in the US. Yes, this is industrial policy - deal with it.

Dumb thinking on GEs part, or maybe a bluff. If moving to Texas is the right decision for GE, then basing it on the politics of the Imp/Exp bank is stupid because the results of the move, or non-move, will be realized for many years to come.

the GOP-e has big knee pads for the United States Chamber of Commerce.

The United States Chamber of Commerce does what ever GE wants.

The majority both houses that we heard about was nothing more than a get rich ploy by our elected officials.

Bailout for bankers. Some folks don’t know that GE is a ‘to big to fail’ bank.

Historically, GE tends towards progressivism - occasionally outright fascism- in addition to being somewhat predatory in the worst "capitalist" way. Brilliant R&D combined with a ruthless determination to dominate. Toss in some rather creepy characters (some of who were European socialists)a and it's an interesting if somewhat unsettling story.

I'd no more want GE in my town than a meat packing plant full of Bosnians. With the Agenda 21 bunch running the show locally, I may end up with both too damned close.

So stay in eff’in’ Connecticut and get HAMMERED with taxes, middle-class-crushing property values, lousy schools and government intrusion into everything your employees do.
Oh yeah, don’t forget to have everyone report their guns to the gubmint.
Your choice.

Or maybe make the smart move to California. The business climate is so much better there. /s

At this point, yes. GE’s been behind a lot of GE-business-protecting regs, like the CFL law - which is now backfiring as people are moving to LEDs, something GE doesn’t make.

I completely agree...you must have missed my /s tag.

It would be fine is they come here and run their businesses. But you and I both know that they will try to change the politics of the state.

I do not wish to help these big companies so strike “we” from your post. Also, I do not own any stock in GE or any other ExIm supported companies so strike “our companies” from your post.

They are your companies and you can support them. Just don’t force the rest of us via government force of arms to do your bidding.

Deal with it.
