Walker says wall on Canadian border worth reviewing

WASHINGTON (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Scott Walker says that building a wall along the country's norther border with Canada is a legitimate issue that merits further review.

Republican candidates have generally taken a get-tough approach on deterring illegal immigration, but they usually focus on the border with Mexico.

The Wisconsin governor was asked whether he wanted to build a wall on the northern border, too, during an interview Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Walker says law enforcement officials in New Hampshire brought up the topic of building a wall along the U.S.-Canadian border during a recent town hall meeting. He says they raised some legitimate concerns, so it's a "legitimate issue for us to look at."

That stupid idea should disqualify Scott Walker. We share the same culture, economy and legal system with Canada, as well as with Australia and New Zealand, having all come from the United Kingdom. I’d be in favor of a totally open border with Canada and a strictly guarded and very high wall with Mexico. (NAFTA with Mexico was a mistake)

Political correctness run amuck. To prove Walker is not racist, he is going to double down on another big government program.

He’s already here on a blue card (the frozen Canadian equivalent of a Green Card).

“Walker doesn’t want to be accused of being unfair.”

Maybe Walker can offer Liz Mair’s old job to Jorge Ramos.

“Yeah, I live 30 miles south of the border from BC, and all the Canadians are overly law abiding and quite nice”

Being a Vancouver BC boy, then you must have seen me at Costcutter buying eggs, milk and gas...then speeding up Burlington to buy at the Nike store, throwing my old shoes at the garbage, then going back and claiming I just bought eggs, milk and gas to avoid the duty.

:)

Yeah, OK, because more Canadians would be just like more Mexicans.

He makes Dan Quayle or Joe Biden seem like a 5 time Jeopardy champ.

Are you seriously equating Dan Quayle with the idiot Biden?

Do we really have massive amounts of illegal Canadians sneaking across the border, taking our jobs at pennies on the dollar, robbing, murdering, raping, having their own gangs, their own cities, illegally voting etc?

No, and not even after we blew up one of their towns.

I can see the similarities.
Dan misspelled potato, Biden is a potato.

Hey, we gotta' stop those hordes of illegal Canadians from slipping into the US. Or maybe we have to keep the illegals already in the US from moving on to Canada. Definitely, a government commission and million dollar study by a Senate select committee will solve the problem.

Walker is SO not ready for prime time.

Up here we want a wall to our south and west...to keep the “people from away” and their crazy ideas out! The people from Quebec and NB and “PI” and NS are just fine; most of us are related to them anyway. Up in “The Valley”, the border is more theoretical than anything else but that’s OK. All someone “from away” needs to do is open his mouth and we know right away he doesn’t belong.

The Canadians might want a Wall to stop illegal aliens from crossing into Canada.

Geez Scott, if you don't want us coming around, all you have to do is say so. What a jerk.

Considering how easy it can be to emigrate from the Middle East to Canada, it might not be such a bad idea.

The Irony.

Canada is spending roughly $4-billion building another bridge , highway interchanges in Michigan, and new customs and immigration buildings in both countries—at the Detroit-Windsor crossing . No cost to the US or Michigan.

And in the US , Walker says that building a wall along the Canadian border is a legitimate issue.

Where do you find these people??

With the NDP being in charge of Alberta, you just might see illegal Canadian immigrants.
