Germany divided on Merkel's 'open door' policy with migrants

In order for the refugee burden to be shared evenly throughout the EU, Merkel supports the imposition of mandatory quotas to ensure that each member state is admitting its fair share of migrants. However, attempts to adopt this as EU policy have met stiff resistance among the more pragmatic European leaders.

... The final destination is Germany for many of these men, women and children. Official forecasts from Berlin have at least 800,000 asylum seekers arriving this year alone, causing much concern among Germans worried about their country’s ability to digest that many new arrivals.

Domestic opposition to Merkel’s migration policies varies. Many Germans support their chancellor’s sentiments, but are concerned that Germany is carrying an exceptionally large share of the asylum seeker burden, while several other EU countries refuse to accept any meaningful number. By contrast, a small but violent number of Germans are taking their anger out at the growing numbers of refugees more directly, with migrants being attacked and refugee centers burned down. More than 200 attacks on migrants have been reported in Germany so far this year.

...

Merkel’s challenge is to establish a European consensus that the German model of “open door” asylum and equitable distribution of refugees is the best approach, while at the same time preventing the growing voices of fear and ager in her own country from gaining traction. Xenophobic attacks continue to increase in frequency within Germany and quickly gain media exposure as the images reinforce ugly ideas about Germany and Germans that are cut deeply in our modern memory.

The cycle:

A fierce, violent people kicks ass and dominates until they exert enough control to enforce peace and turn their attention to building a better life for themselves. Gradually then , contented and peaceful, they become soft, pleasure loving, corrupted and complacent. Then the next fierce, violent people moves in, kicks the pansy asses of the decadent pleasure loving tribe who no longer knows how to fight or are busy fighting among themselves, and takes over, killing or enslaving the formerly dominant population even as they begin the cycle again.

Funny, because I consider Matt Damon’s movie “Elysium” to be a pretty good predictor of where we are headed,

The Moorish re-invasion and Mexican Reconquista are both proceeding as planned.
When they both barely fail, I will be reminding lefties of their folly every day.

Germany has the same problem we do with the cheap labor, Chamber of Commerce types and lefties wanting more third worlders. Angela Merkel is their tool.

In less than a generation "Old Germany" would be just another third world pee hole and "New Germany" would be a booming economic powerhouse.

We've already seen it. Look at South Africa while the German/English whites were in control, compared to the rest of Africa. Look at Rhodesia vs Zimbabwe.

Look at Baltimore, Detroit, Gary, Washington, DC, and Chicago.

Germany has bad leadership like the US.

"In the face of the largest refugee crisis that Europe has seen since 1945, German Chancellor Angela Merkel has stated repeatedly and unequivocally that Germany and other EU member states must do more address the humanitarian crisis that is unfolding before them."

Either she will soon shift her position, markedly, or she and her party will lose the next election to the "Nativist Right".

Ha! They’re out there, but they probably won’t get very far.

Most Germans don’t want any more Muslim immigrants, but as in the US, the political system is rigged against the popular will when it comes to immigration.

Whether anyone or movement in Germany (or the US) can overthrow the current policy regarding immigration, I don’t know. I hope so!

I like to draw historical parallels, but don’t put much faith in it being valid.
