EXCLUSIVE: TRUMP CALLS CLUB FOR GROWTH ‘A PACK OF THIEVES’
Breitbart ^ | August 29,2015 | by MICHAEL PATRICK LEAHY

Posted on 08/29/2015 2:24:06 PM PDT by Hojczyk

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, GOP front runner Donald Trump is firing back at the Club for Growth.

“They’re a pack of thieves,” Trump told Breitbart News as he was leaving Nashville’s Rocketown facility. He had just finished delivering a high-energy speech to an overflow crowd of more than 1,000 people.

Trump was attending the annual convention of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies, which describes itself as “the grassroots Republican wing of the Republican Party.”

“They [the Club for Growth] came to my office looking for money. I turned them down. That’s why they’re after me,” Trump told Breitbart News.

Earlier in the week, the Club for Growth attacked Trump for his proposal to penalize Ford Motor Company for putting a car manufacturing plant in Mexico rather than Tennessee.

“Donald Trump’s threat to impose new taxes on U.S. car companies will hurt the American economy and cost more American jobs,” David McIntosh, President of the Club for Growth, said in a statement.

“It should thrill liberals and Democrats everywhere that Trump wants to create new taxes and start a trade war to force American companies to work where he demands,” McIntosh added.

Trump stopped specifically to address Breitbart’s question as he moved down the exit aisles surrounded by throngs of supporters.

“I love Breitbart News. This is going to be a good question,” Trump said.

Trump did not pull any punches when asked if he had a message for the Club for Growth in response to its attacks.

Other candidates might shy away from calling out their critics so bluntly as “a pack of thieves,” but for Trump it was just another opportunity to take the battle to the opposition.

Great story. Many of us have been there. Those cars were all about wonderful. Now, not so much. They all look the same basically, and none are legends, like that ‘56 Chevy you mentioned.

Last great US car I had was an 84 turbo Thunderbird five speed. Awesome. You cannot find it anywhere now.

Can he keep this up for six months???? I wonder if he is like Clarence Thomas and sleeps 3 hours a night

Trump is pretty fit for a 69 year old....check out his body language at the podium....big guy.

He let slip that his BP is 108, My guess is that from his experience in WWF he uses the top world class training routine...

Just 30 minutes A WEEK to keep in tip top physical form

Check out this video that explains it....and see Barbara Walters leg press 400lbs.

Ah. Exactly. Part of the genius of our Founders. These Sovereign States within a Union.

If the American worker is so bad, then why are Toyotas built in America as good as ones built elsewhere?

Or are you really saying Mexicans can build cars better than Americans? Your argument doesn’t really make much sense.

Can he keep this up for six months????

He needs to keep it up for fifteen months, and given the average attention span in this country, that's a serious concern.

[ One of the reason America is so great is FREE TRADE

We do have free trade. Across State lines, with the rules of trade established by a Congress of people who represent the Citizens of those States.

As for incorporating the rest of the world in that gig...have no interest in that at all. ]

The only way we can actually have free trade is to not tax our own PRODUCTION.

Abolish the income tax and the Corporate taxes and cut in half or 1/4th the amount of environmental and BS labour regulations we have. Then we can fair/free trade and be competitive against countries like china

They aren’t going to say that directly. They don’t want to be tarred and feathered. But when they come out against renegotiating the trade agreements and are trade deficits are sky high, then that’s exactly what they stand for.

I’m sure that’s why Trump called them thieves. Though I’m not sure he elaborated...yet.

Do we want to go back to the 1950’s

More or less, yeah, that's the idea...

Some on this thread are nativists

You bet your a** we are.

I am a patriot and a nationalist, and if labor unions are what it takes for average American workers to buy stuff that's made here and thereby enrich their neighbors instead of the Red Chinese, I'm all for 'em.

"They are not pro America"

no, but they DO have $300-$500 million to spend on attack ads against Trump in the PRIMARIES.

Not including candidate PACs.

One day soon they will hit the airwaves with their shock and awe assault on Trump. All negative, all the time. Sometimes true, sometimes not.

But it will damage the front runner. It remains to see to what extent.

Agree. The goal is to create a business environment in which business wants to operate in the U.S... Not an environment that punishes for finding a better environment.

Not an environment that punishes for finding a better environment.

That's a nice way to put selling out your American brothers and sisters, "looking for a better environment".

[ “I’m with Club For Growth”

I second that thought. The Club ARE Conservatives. Some on this thread are nativists (aka labor goons)

One of the reason America is so great is FREE TRADE.

This may be one of the Trumpsters first fails with the readers on FR ]

Do you want a service based economy then where we actually produce nothing but a bunch of hapless beer-o-crats who do nothing but shuffle paper arund all day?

I am all for free trade, but in order to have free trade we must FIRST eliminate all domestic taxes on PRODUCING things.

And we must also drastically reduce environmental and labour restrictions on domestic manufacture as well.

Wanting to outsource stuff to be made in other countries because we are unwilling to fight for reduction in domestic production taxes and reduction of restrictive regulations is nothing but big business giving up on America.

I expected to be flamed supporting the Club for Growth and free trade.
Trump wants to punish Oreo for moving to Mexico. World sugar prices are 50% lower than US prices due to (taxpayer) subsidies. All that money goes to people like the exceedingly wealthy, Florida based sugar growers, the Fanjul brothers. Brother Jose gives big money to Marco Rubio, Alfonso gives to Democrats.

In the case of autos, the GM bailout and bankruptcy cost the taxpayer $11 Billion, the bondholders $30 billion, the shareholders (think your IRA) maybe $60 billion and the unions zero. The rising legacy costs are still there. Ford barely survived because they saw bad times coming and borrowed tons of money early. They still have the legacy costs that they are trying to avoid, hence the move to Mexico and not Tenn., where the union can still create havoc for them.

The Club for Growth identified Ted Cruz when he was nowhere known in Texas, but running for the Senate. They gave him a couple hundred thousand to kick-start his very early campaign.

It doesn’t look like he answered their charge.

He just pooped in his hand and threw it at them.

Anything Thunderbird was out of this world! Think of it, TURBO, FIVE SPEED! Whoosh!! What was that, that just went by!!

I went to the HS prom proudly with my date in a ‘59 Chevy Super Sport, white with a red interior, 2 door. You could pack the whole class and the beer in there and drive from Oklahoma to Anywhere, USA, on air. Gee, weren’t things grand?
