Ambassador Says Pope Francis Will Urge U.S. to ‘Open Doors’ for Immigrants
Breitbart - Big Government ^ | 8-29-2015 | Dr. Susan Berry

The U.S. ambassador to the Vatican said that during Pope Francis’ visit to the United States next month, he expects the Pope will urge the U.S. to embrace its history of welcoming immigrants.

Ambassador Kenneth Hackett said the Pope’s immigration message will be important as lead GOP presidential contender Donald Trump has called for a border fence between Mexico and the United States and the deportation of millions of illegal immigrants, the Associated Press reports.

“I think he’ll call us to continue to engage with it (the world), don’t throw any walls up around our nation, don’t revert to isolationism,” he said. “We are a nation of welcoming people, so that’s where I think he will put his attention.”

In addition to immigration, Hackett says Pope Francis will likely wish to discuss income inequality, family issues, and the environment while he is in the country.

That man has neither common sense nor love of people that he proclaims.

If he had those qualities he would be make it his goal to change the leaders of those countries whose citizens seek better lives elsewhere.

Persuade those LEADERS TO MAKE BETTER COUNTRIES, instead of trying to solve their problem by making problems for others.
Those are the ones who deserve his scorn.

The man is not a typical Pope...nor even a typical Catholic.

He should open his own door for immigration, income inequality, family issues, and the environment.

He won't because they might get away with the Vatican gold. So much for that vow of poverty he once took.

“I wonder if the Pope will call Ted Cruz a “jackass” to thank Boehner “

The way things are going, it wouldn’t surprise.

Actually, I had missed the bit about Boehner inviting him.

Knowing that, I hope the Pope will discuss Boehner’s drinking problem with him.

He IS a Head of State, so the “separation of church and state” bit doesn’t really apply. (As though having a religious leader give a speech in front of Congress is MAKING A LAW “respecting an establishment of religion.”)

I don’t have any problem with having a Pope come and give a speech. I have a problem with an economically illiterate one-worlder Marxist coming and giving a speech.

Open your own doors, Francis. Let them pee all over the Vatican. You are a head of state.

“I have a problem with an economically illiterate one-worlder Marxist coming and giving a speech.”

Agreed. They’d benefit more by hearing from Franklin Graham.

The Vatican supported many leaders in Europe who were fighting to prevent communist takeovers of their countries throughout the 1920s and 1930s; why shouldn’t they? Catholics were brutally murdered wherever communism took hold; the Catholic Church is still canonizing martyrs from the Spanish Civil War, where over 7,000 priests, hundreds of nuns, and thirteen bishops were murdered by communists between 1936 and 1939.

When you see how our country fell in a bloodless coup in 2008, you should be able to better understand what drove Hitler and many other traditional people in Europe. While it may have degenerated into an indefensible murderous rampage later on, those leaders were initially morally correct to fight off communism. That is why Hitler was Time magazine’s “Man of the Year” in 1936.

It seems he is just trying to keep the Church relevant by appealing to the lowest common denominator (environmentalists, sexual deviants, “the oppressed”, etc.) rather than actually dealing with the serious moral issues of the day (abortion, “gay marriage”, etc.). Like many American Church leaders, he seems much more concerned with being liked than doing his job...

“AP also observes that President Barack Obama is about to fully pass the baton of “rock-star status” from himself to Pope Francis, who has “embraced many of the issues Obama has sought to advance, including global warming, poverty, and diplomacy with Iran and Cuba.”

Pope Francis has “transcended the Roman Catholic community,” AP states, adding that Obama has referred to him as a “transformative leader.””

If the pope can cloak the communist agenda with a religious robe, Obama like him. For now.

Won’t be happy until everyone is equally poor (except a few elite) and no one will ever be able to try to better themselves again.

The invasion of illegals are here, and saint in the making boherner took a false oath. One cannot serve two masters. It is appalling that the constitution has been made null and void by those that serve Rome. May God pour his wrath upon the hypocrites. But then they will whine and cry themselves rivers of everybody is picking on us.

conservatives and liberals have different expections from pope francis. conservatives hope the pope will speak up for little sisters of the poor and the planned parenthood videos. liberals want the pope to promote gun control and condemn the greedy and hateful, polluter, donald trump. i suspect the pope will make off the cuff that will disappoint all.

I wonder if the Pope is talking about Mexicans or Syrians. At least you can party with Mexicans. Syrians might cut your head off if you tried to party.
