Bullcrap - look how they treated Reagan. So, he’s supposed to make nice and kiss their butts? I don’t think so. WHen they are being rude and asking stupid questions, they need to be put in their place. The media doesn’t like him or any Republican - get that through your head.

CNN is gonna have to think about changing a few plays in their playbook.

Perhaps my favorite part was that Trump ended his scolding of CNN with basically a dismissive glare and a talk-to-the-hand wave at which point he looked to another reporter to take another question.

One of his friends from college said “he had that swagger even back then!”

Imagine that his colleagues and professors remember him and he is older than 0

Yes, Boomer’s statement that ‘no one has ever won the presidency without some media network support’ is just plain wrong.

You gave the best example with Reagan.

And I can’t think of any network who suppprted Nixon and both Bushes.

This is a war. A political war, but a war nonetheless.

The MSM are the fixed fortifications of yesteryear. Fixed fortifications are monuments to the stupidity of man.

YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc.,; run right around the MSM in realtime, all the time.

Trump is using the new tools of warfare to great effect thus far. And using the MSM too! Just not in the way “they” would prefer it.

“The Boss” nailed it, again.

CNN lost their standing with me, the night that a now-not-remembered CNN reporter was screaming when bombs in Baghdad were falling outside his window.

I wonder who he voted for in ‘08.

He voted for the one he pushed as “most able to win”. That would be Romney. :-D

Well, yes, but the reporters actually got along well with Reagan, who most of them liked personally, and they could have been harder on him than they were. And this was 1980, when the media still had some semblance of restraint.

I strongly disagree.

Your wussy leaders approach is the reason why so many people in our country are on drugs.... I mean “meds”.

Yes, during Reagan’s presidency, the reporters were more subdued than they were compared to when he campaigned, so this does not support what Boomer was saying (which was you need some network support to win the WH).

I recall a post of our long lost Freeper Commontator about Brokaw interviewing Reagan during the early days. Brokaw badgered Reagan, but Reagan was unfazed and kept his composure. It made Brokaw look bad and Reagan look steady and strong.

In other words, Reagan ‘won’ that interview.

And we all know he won the WH.

Trump might want to think about toning his treatment of news outlets down a bit. No one ever won the WH without some support from at least some of the networks.

In the days of Mark Twain, one did not pick fights with those who buy ink by the barrel. Today, everybody has equal access to the most powerful media on earth - the internet and especially social media. Trump is a master at those platforms. The tv and print media no longer has the power to change minds.
