Slain Reporter's Father: I Want More Gun Control
Truth Revolt ^ | 8/28/15 | Paul Bois

Once again, the left has exploited the ruminations of a grieving father to push gun control.

In an interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo Thursday, Andy Parker, the father of slain WDBJ journalist Alison Parker, demanded that his daughter's death at the hands of a murderer may be a cause to bolster politicians into passing more gun control laws.

"If I have to be the John Walsh of gun control and -- look, I'm for the Second Amendment, but there has to be a way to force politicians that are cowards and in the pockets of the NRA to come to grips and make sense -- have sensible laws so that crazy people can't get guns. It can't be that hard," said Parker in reference to John Walsh, the man who created America's Most Wanted.

Parker also demanded that politicians get to work passing this gun legislation right away rather than giving him time to grieve.

"[P]oliticians from the local level to the state level to the national level, they sidestep the issue. They kick the can down the road. This can't happen anymore," he said. "And I know that the NRA, their position is going to be -- I can hear it now. They're going to say, 'Oh gee, well, if they were carrying, this never would have happened,'" Parker said.

"I've got news for you. If Alison or Adam had been caring an AK-47 strapped around their waist, it wouldn't have made any difference," he continued. "They couldn't have seen this thing coming. So I don't want to hear that argument from the NRA, and you know that's going to happen. And I'm going to take it on."

Andy Parker's statement echoes similar statements made by Richard Martinez, the father who lost his son during a shooting near the University of Santa Barbara in 2014. Both have now been used by the left to push gun control.

I’m thinking an AK-47 strapped around them would have maybe been a good deterent. Too bad it’s too late to try...

“I’ve got news for you. If Alison or Adam had been caring an AK-47 strapped around their waist, it wouldn’t have made any difference,” he continued. “They couldn’t have seen this thing coming. So I don’t want to hear that argument from the NRA, and you know that’s going to happen. And I’m going to take it on.”

Question. If the reporters couldn’t see this coming, how could anyone see this coming and prevent the killer from acquiring firearms?

If anyone in the area was openly carrying then the shooter could have been taken down as soon as he pointed the gun and might not have even tried. There are a lot of what ifs. The left doesn’t own this issue at all.

We don't give a F*** what you want, you aren't going to deprive us of a fundamental right to make yourself feel better about your daughter being killed by a homosexual lunatic.

Technology has now made it impossible to ban or control guns. People can now manufacture them in home workshops, so there will never be any more "gun control."

Wow. While pinheads argue over definitions, you write something like that! I hope you can get it to Mr. Parker and that he reads it. You could add that a whole lot of people at FR, a strongly pro-gun group, also agree with it.

Well done sir.

Maybe if crazy people weren't allowed to walk around free like everyone else, it wouldn't be an issue.

Chicago has the toughest gun control measures in the country.
Has it done them any good?

Too much of a punk to admit that the problem was his daughter's whiteness.

Wrong.

"Whiteness" is not a problem.

Race hate, which the murderer demonstrated, is a serious problem.

The chattering class, the political class, and yes the dead lady's father all need to get a reality check. Black race-hate is the problem.

“look, I’m for the Second Amendment but..”

Look, I'm all for the First Amendment but I and a few friends of mine want to be the ones who get to decide what is reported and how it is reported. Any deviation from our rules will lead to firing and, when necessary, banishment from the profession and possibly incarceration.

Oh and if the situation being reported on is extremely dangerous, or if the newsroom or network offices are plagued by lunatics or bitter-end heterophobes and race hustlers, my friends and I will be the Deciders-in-Chief as to who bears the risk and, if necessary, suffers the harm.

As I say I am all for the First Amendment.

Not wrong.

She was murdered by this black man because she was white.

Her father can blame guns all he wants, but it's cowardly to avoid the real issue of his daughter's skin color.
Because that was the reason she was murdered.

What gun laws would have stopped the killer from getting a gun?

Did he have a criminal record?

Was he ever observed for any psychological problems?

“What gun laws would have stopped the killer from getting a gun?”

Even the liberal Roanoke Times asked the same question today.

That doesn't make her 'whiteness' the problem. 'Whiteness" isn't a problem. It just is. Same with "blackness", brownness", etc.

She was murdered by this black man because she was white.

She was murdered by a violent racist, leftist, sodomite murderer, because he's a violent racist, leftist, and sodomite. Intentionally or not, you're blaming the victim.

Get rid of guns, and with modern technology, it’s a cinch these days to make your own weapons. Necessity is the mother of invention.

And then what? How would ordinary people defend themselves then?
