>>>say half are men - 175 million.
half of those are in the age bracket to use ashley madison - 88 million.
31 out 88 million - almost 40% ?? <<<
I thought Ashley Madison customers are married, so your calculation need to take that into account. Assuming half of the 88 million married?
Also assuming each guy creating 5 aliases, etc. etc.
the number crunching could be interesting.
Don’t believed the Ashley Madison clientele were limited to the US
I think these stats are world wide, like Europe, Canada, US.
you’re prob right, but 31 million is an incredible number.
It’s just easier for women to cheat than men. A woman only needs to go to the local singles bar on any night she is alone. Men, unless they are in the top 5% of attractiveness, have to work at establishing relationships with women to generate interest. Sites, like Madison or Plenty of Fish, cuts the amount of work needed because the women are self-selected and open to the possibilities.
I saw another article that suggested only 12,108 of the female accounts were actually active.
And only a little over 20 million of those ever checked their messages.
So the numbers are a little better.
It was a hooker's Happy Hunting Ground.
I saw another article that said only three zip codes in the entire U.S. had no Ashley Madison accounts. Two were in Alaska and one was in New Mexico. WTF?
I guess gardnerella.com was taken?
I wonder where she went.
Hiding deep in the Hurtgen Forest, perhaps?
still a whole lotta cheatin’ goin on.
apologies to jerry lee.
Many of the profiles on Okcupid are fake as well. stolen photos, repeated profile texts. Seems to be 5+ new fakes per 100 mile radius a day.
Hard to believe that was almost 16 years ago!
Is that also the case when men are willing to pay to use Okcupid or PlentyOfFish or any of the other ‘dating’ sites which are loaded with fake accounts?
Paying for the upgrade is supposed to permit ‘better’ searches and the ability to ‘see who viewed you’ but it’s all a come on with little actual benefit. Especially considering the number of fake profiles being generated every day.
Those fakes broaden the user base rolls (falsely) which exploits the actual users and the advertisers who buy advertising on the sites (banners/popups/streaming ads).
OK, now I’m finally starting to feel sorry for the guys who spent time and money in that site. They’re even dumber than I thought... that’s unfortunate.
Even in Amish country?
Reminds me of the Beach Boys' song: "One Girl for Every 2583 Boys"
