A new poll shows Joe Biden performing a little better than Hillary Clinton against the leading GOP candidates in a general election matchup, and his favorability is better than that of any candidate - Democrat or Republican.

Quinnipiac University's national poll [link at URL], released Thursday, finds that Clinton remains the Democratic frontrunner with 45%, but her lead over Bernie Sanders has slipped by 10 percentage points. sanders has 22 percent, and Biden comes in third at 18 percent. ...

On the Republican side, Trump broadened his lead - he's now at 28 percent, with Ben Carson trailing at 12 percent, and Jeb Bush slipping back into a three-way tie fort third with Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio (they each have 7 percent).

But Trump is also the candidate with the highest percentage (26 percent) who say there's 'no way' they would support him. ...

When voters were asked what they thought of Clinton, the word "liar" came to mind more often than others, and "dishonest" was second. The word most associated with Trump was "arrogant," followed by "blowhard." ...

Give it time... When what CNN's Anderson Cooper asked of The Donald about six weeks ago gets pounded away by the media against 2016 GOP hopefuls (after the primaries) running for House seats, Senate seats, state seats, governorships, etcetera, the word most associated with Trump may include the pejorative term "birther."

Even with The Donald supposedly energizing voters, Biden still does quite well against Trump, and he hasn't even announced yet. Multiple polls have even shown Sanders beating Trump!

But, as we can see here, people get worked up over the polls they like and then they turn around later and call those same polling outfits (ABC News, WaPo, Reuters, PPP, NBC News, WSJ, etcetera, etcetera) liberal, untrustworthy and so on. Go figure.

The GOP may have picked the wrong person (Hillary) to go after (although she does need to gone after to get to the heart of servergate, and they have done a somewhat good job so far of going after her.)

But Joe Biden may not enter the running, so they may have picked the right person after all...

This is a duh. Those who vote for the “D” regardless of which candidate bears the title will always but the “D” candidate above the GOP alternative. Right now, Hillary remains the presumptive nominee so she crushes her competition within their common sphere. However, take any one of them against a GOP rival and they will poll better.

I asked my sister, a democrat, of what she thought of the democrat candidates.

“I don’t know. Hillary is in big trouble, Sanders is old and Biden is stupid. But I hate Trump.”

Democrat opinion will vary, but the bottom line is that democrats are very unsatisfied with their choices.

Biden is the most dangerous Democrat if Trump is the nominee.

Around me, Trump is HUGE with working class white Democrats. Only Scranton-born 100% working class family background Joe Biden can take those voters away.

A Biden/Sanders ticket would be quite formidable.

As I have said before, Biden can bring in more blue-collar, lunch-pail voters to vote D than Trump could ever dream of to vote R.

Joe Biden should run.

The concern that he couldn’t build up his campaign is bonk, those will come from rats jumping off Hillary’s camp/ship.

A three-way ‘ratfight between Clinton, Biden and Sanders would be ... wonderful!

If Biden does NOT run (or even if he does), the resulting chaos in the ‘RAT selection process may provide an opening for an alternative choice, perhaps the likes of Martin O’Malley and Jim Webb. They’re both polling at Lindsey Graham levels but in O’Malley’s case, he is generally well received at events and crowds (when he can find one, lol) respond positively to his message.

Jim Webb has some disadvantages, one of them is a book he wrote years ago which described some godawful pedophile images, but aside from that he is perceived as a mostly pro-defense Democrat, he was briefly Reagan’s Secretary of the Navy, and that looks good on almost any resume’.

Even in this poll, Trump is far ahead of the competition in the so-called republican party. We simply are seeing a demonstration of different methods, samplings, weightings, etc. All of them, though, show Trump pulling away and Bush dropping like a rock.

A socialist versus a capitalist would be a fun game to watch.

Hillary isn’t dead yet in my opinion, despite the numbers.

The democrats would run away with this if they went with Jim Webb, but they won’t.
