Donald Trump believes the moment an Iraqi reporter thew a shoe at George W. Bush and Bush didnt blink may have been his best moment if you want to know the truth, that is very sad to say.
Trump appearing on the Hugh Hewitt Show Wednesday stated that if Jorge Ramos, who interrupted Trump Tuesday had a microphone, he would have blasted everyone out of the room since he was shouting so loud.
Hugh Hewitt: Yeah what he did, it was not professional. Ive been doing this for 25 years. It wasnt professional, but it wasnt professional for him and it was also very successful for you because of the way you handled it. And I was actually reminded, do you remember when the Iraqi threw the shoe at George W. Bush and he didnt blink and he just carried on?
Donald Trump: Yes.
Hewitt: Thats what it reminded me of and you see why?
Trump: Well that may have been his best moment if you want to know the truth, that is very sad to say. But the truth is, I didnt think in terms of television. I just said you know, Who is this guy that is screaming. I dont think I think when youre doing a lot of live television, you dont necessarily think that you are on live television, but that was live all over the place. And I just thought it was inappropriate. The first thing I thought was it was really unfair because there was so many people, with good, sitting with their hands up, wanting to ask questions and this man was standing up and really shouting quite loud. Now you didnt hear the extent of it because he didt have a microphone. Had he had a microphone on and yet you still heard him because he was shouting so loud.
Hewitt: Yeah.
Trump: But if he had a microphone, he would have blasted everyone out of the room. So, it worked out fine. And it probably was good for him. And actually at the end, by the time we finished, I mean I didt think he was such a bad guy. Im glad I invited him back because I think maybe I would have been criticized if I didnt invite him back because you know some people, you know the concept of getting him out, which people didnt mind but I think they wanted him back. So it was an interesting evening, that I can tell you.

We were on the right side. We were not decisive. But, again, the US public with a volunteer force has indeed fought wars (insurrections) that lasted that long. Against Muslims. And won. Philippine revolt was a great example.
Can you even describe to me what “winning” means in the context of any one of those foreign countries?
Somebody tell the snake oil salesman that he is going after the wrong Bush.
It's remarkable that I can sit here and cite exact passages from an agreement that was signed by the Bush administration two months before George W. Bush left office, and someone here on FreeRepublic actually calls it an "argument" at all -- let alone a "BS argument."
We had forces in the Axis powers for a long time. We did so because it was not a secured area.
Japan wasn’t all that secure till the middle 1950’s.
It wasn’t just to keep the Soviet’s out, but to make sure Germany and Japan didn’t decide to go for another round.
This moment,IMO, was his best. I would have not wanted any other President on 9/11.
Control.
Because **** is out of control now.
Look at ISIS
Of course we did. If we had just run Iraq as a protectorate/colony, it would have been pretty subdued in 2006 but Bush had an admirable vision of trying to turn it into a permanent democracy. I’m not sure if that’s possible, but I think it was worth a try-—again, especially with the Iran scenario.
Guy wasn’t shot but he did go to prison for a few years.
Interesting history, although revisionist. I recall “WMD”. Anyway, it Totally destabilized the Middle East and like Trump, I was totally against the deaths of 5000 American warriors and 2 TRILLION dollars of printed money for absolutely nothing and no one held accountable. It cost the republicrats the presidency. But we move on to higher and better with Trump. God Bless America and the new Republican Party!!
What was the stated purpose of invading Iraq? Please review and report back.
You don't "try" anything after pissing away thousands of American lives and hundreds of billions of dollars in a military engagement like that. You defeat the enemy, subdue it, and do whatever it takes to make sure it can't threaten you for at least 200 years.
This was how the U.S. waged wars that it actually tried to win.
The most pathetic aspect of the story was that Joe Biden (of all people) was saying as far back as 2006 that breaking Iraq into three parts was probably the most viable solution over there. It takes a special kind of stupidity for a Republican administration to make a guy like Joe Biden with his room-temperature IQ look like a genius.
The main stated reasons was that they supported terrorism and they were developing .’
The unstated reasons were we could divide the ME From Turkey to the Persian Gulf with Freedom
There were a lot of good reasons to break up Iraq, and a lot of bad ones---the worst being that a fragmented Iraq would have been easier for Iran to eat up.
Again, you seem most resistant to reading anything by Michael Yon, who was easily the best respected military observer over there. Yon said we basically had the war won in 2006. But I can see you're getting closer to your tinfoil hat so, you have your opinion and I have mine.
Developing WMD
What size did Bush say it was again? Been so long I forgot...
All my reports said the people were generally happy when we deposed Saddam.
Then We walked away and let it descend into chaos.
I fail to see how bleeding liberals have made us safer.
JFK would be considered a right wing radical today, and while Obie kisses the memory of his butt, what is HE DOING?
Certainly not one of this country's finest moments when we walked away. I know two families who lost sons in Iraq and Afghanistan. Can't imagine how Obama completely screwing up both Iraq and Afghanistan made them feel.
