Does any one honestly believe Cruz would be beating Bush at this point?
Possibly they would have each had close to half of Trumps 40%?
Cruz would have been absolutely vilified by now by the likes of Krauthammer, Kelly, and O’Reilly. The tone would have been the old, tried-and-true “seriousness”, and Cruz would have been the radical right.
Trump did him a favor rescuing him from that. Go back to between Cruz’s announcement and Trump’s and see how they were positioning Cruz for the kill.
He didn’t have the cash or firepower to overcome the GOP/Democrat/Media Cartel....his well-named, Washington Cartel.
There’s a huge chance he’ll be the VP pick.
