Our tax dollars at work?

I would propose that if you are on welfare, you do busywork if nothing else

Street sweeping, cleaning graffiti, etc

And if they have kids then one half of them can watch the kids while the other half is working. that’s what the people who pay the bills have to do.

Our tax dollars at work?

There is no work involved. It should be 'our tax dollars at play.'

Local NPR this morning was talking about jobs in Oakland, they cannot get anyone to do any job - the city clerk said, after 2-3 generations of welfare, they do not understand the concept of going to work every day.

One of the reasons illegals can easily find work.

Not surprised.

And the basic welfare and all of the “extra’s” that come with it is tax-free - which makes it 25% to 48% even more attractive than working.

If you bring the jobs back to America, the demand for labor will bid up wages and shift the balance between paying jobs and welfare.

If you cut welfare without first bringing the jobs back, you will push the country towards socialism.

Welfare is structured now such that making around $12/hr + welfare = $38/hr (no welfare), with total income plunging 1/3rd when earning about $18/hr. You can’t get out of welfare under such conditions.

“And if they have kids then one half of them can watch the kids while the other half is working. that’s what the people who pay the bills have to do.”

There’s a scam for that too. A while back a YouTube video was going around with a black woman explaining how to collect all the free stuff they’re obviously entitled to. She got to the part about the kids and explained how you send the kids over to a trusted partner, such as grandma, and grandma applies to get the funding to take care of all those kids. Then she splits it with mom. It was a good sized chunk of change IIRC.

That’s what they do in Germany - or did 20 years ago...

From the article:

“The best way to balance the needs of those who cannot take care of themselves against the risk of teaching people to not take care of themselves is to handle welfare through the private sector and volunteer donations and service.”

Couldn’t agree more!

Thank God we have a Central Bank that can print unbacked, unlimited, fiat money at fake, zero interest rates - or government would never be able to afford all this generosity!!

Think of it as a governmental price support on idleness.

When there’s crop price supports, you get lots of excess.

There is no work involved. It should be 'our tax dollars at play.'

But there is work here. Welfare "recipients" are professional workers... it's a career thing.

Duties include:

1. Once per month, getting up from the couch, and an arduous round trip hike to the mailbox, and occasional trips to the bank.

2. Voting

Why work when welfare is far more lucrative?

an arduous round trip hike to the mailbox, and occasional trips to the bank.

This should be considered combat duty, taking flak and random bullets overhead and nearby.

“one half of them can watch the kids while the other half is working”

Except that often there is only one parent in the house.

Let’s cut our military by 40,000 so we can fund these sponges sitting on their asses.

All the illegals and mooselimb “refugees” should go to the most liberal states that pay a lot more in welfare.
