Proud Ayrshireman here.
Born in Irvine, lived in Kilmarnock for 11 yrs, live in Ayr. Dad from Saltcoats, Mum from Glasgow.
You must be related to THE greatest Ewart: Charles of Waterloo fame.
my wife’s ancestors came from Ayrshire
Charles Ewart was from Irvine and that is where some of my Ewarts hail from..Jane Ewart was born in Kilmarnock, her father was Robert Ewart and he may have been a cousin ..
Where?. Any info, I can help.
it’s near impossible to read thru the 38 reasons without hearing a Scottish accent.
If it wasn’t for the fact I have family living there, I’d avoid the place like the plague. Seeing all those ‘Aye’ stickers and defaced saltires with ‘Yes’ tattooed all over them would leave me permanently in a rage. Scotland these days just seems to have turned into a nasty, nat infested place full of parochial leftist anglophobes with moral superiority complexes.
Sadly you are correct. Although we aren’t all like that.
Just enjoy the scenery, and the friendly people. Just don’t mention politics. LOL
Where does the family live?.
Near Glasgow, which is as you probably know, nat central. Fortunately, they will be moving to Edinburgh soon, which is a moderate improvement. They used to live in Dumfries though, which is probably the most sensible part of Scotland.
