Watching the end of the trading day on Fox Biz when the market dropped from 300 to 103 in two minutes. Trader told Liz Claman that the rumor is going around the trading floor that there may be a coup underway in China, and troop movements are being reported in Beijing. It was funny watching a trader hand news to a journalist.
Claman was caught flat-footed. Fox hasn't done anything about the rumor in the five minutes it was reported. Nothing on Drudge about China yet.

I read that headline as: Possible Trump Movements in China
Fox Biz now reporting with 15 minutes left in the day that 90 percent of all open trades are negative. Dow now negative. S&P and Russell also now negative.
Something is up and the traders are buying it.
Or, going in to depose the nork dwarf king.
Stocks just went red, 19 minutes to close.

IF China wanted to mess with the West: Make a massive and unannounced shift in troops and military resources as to unsettle the already spooked markets.
Just the rumor seemed to work.

More panic. Dividend rates are going up on Duke Power(4.3%) and AT&T(5.6%)

Having just returned from there and heading back in 2 weeks I can tell you their speculation is just speculation.
This is a planned event. Factories in the Beijing down to Tianjin are basically shut down until for another couple of weeks for a planned “Parade” as they call it is a large military showcase aimed to get the Japanese attention.
(Spratly Islands) and also a reminder to the Japanese of the “Rape of Nanjing”
Now that being said as much time as I spend there I still don’t trust the little shits.
