Donald Trump, who has repeatedly accused China of stealing manufacturing jobs from the U.S., acknowledged today that an array of Trump-branded clothes, accessories and other products are made in China.
The real estate and casino mogul, who is considering a run for the Republican presidential nomination, blamed China for the fact that Trump ties, Trump cufflinks and even Trump teddy bears come with a "Made in China" label.
"The answer is very simple: Because of the fact that China so manipulates their currency it makes it almost impossible for American companies to compete," Trump told ABC News. But visitors to the Trump Store in the lobby of the Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in New York City, or to the displays of Trump clothing at Macy's in New York's Herald Square, would be hard-pressed to find much labeled "Made in the U.S.A." Among the few items made in the U.S.A.: Trump chocolate bars, books, teas and Christmas tree ornaments, priced at $15 each.

So it's ok for him to makes ties in China and profit from it, but not for Ford to make cars there and profit from it. We should pay more for cars, but not for ties. Nothing like having a business acumen that screws the consumer.
But at least he could adhere to principles...

If autos can be made here and don’t need to be made overseas, and thus need to be tariffed/taxed by Trump coming in, then why can’t Trump make stuff here?
He could make all of his stuff here, just not have as high a profit margin.
Those who truly say they will throw it all in for the U.S. flag and American workers would be willing to have a smaller profit margin, right?
It is affordable to manufacture in America - just not have as high a profit margin.
Trump could throw it all in for the U.S. flag and for American workers and have had all his stuff made here, so why doesn’t he? Do principles still matter?
Secondly, if autos can be made here and can be affordable still and thus need to be tariffed/taxed by Trump coming in, then why doesn’t he make some of his stuff here (instead of Mexico) if what Beck said about his stuff coming from Mexico is true?
Couldn't he have invested a few hundred million of his own money to establish the factories that created the finished product and the materials they're made from right here in the U.S.?
But Beck isn’t running for president. Right?

The apparel, or sewing factory plants are practically gone from the US, and have been for years. If someone wants to start a clothing line, they have to have the work done where that type work is still done, and very little is done in the USA.
He would be a fool to operate that way, solo, at this time. If he can get a large chunk of the industries to return to America, by changing the tax laws, for example, they can operate successfully together in the US with US jobs, along with trade sanctions, etc.
