When the natives started their uprising, the *first* thing they did was go slaughter all the white farmers’ dogs...and then the owners.
It was horrible...and a warning that *other* “people” will start shooting dogs when they’re about to subdue the people, too.

Interesting read; I see why they have such Southern pride. Didn’t realize that pro-Confederacy sympathy was so widespread. I knew it was there (Booth counted on it during his escape), but even he was always unsure when approaching homes.
Terrifying; sad to lose dogs like that.
An older friend has one (she’s retired and lives alone), and it reacts to a squirrel farting on the next block...

The maryland 400 defended washington’s retreat... Aug 27 marks the date, without maryland there would be no america... Washington decreed, aryland’s flag can fly at equal height... In Hurley, Virginia the students stood up for the Confederate flag. A black football player had it even tattooed on his arm. All said there is noting racist about it.

I don’t understand how the stars & stripes is any less offensive to the perpetually aggrieved; slave states fought under it, and here in the north even states like NJ had slavery until 15 just years before the Civil War.
Once people turn this country into a laboratory for PC madness, then there is no reason to keep the current flag. Too many ethnic and gender minorities, as well as sexual deviants, may be offended by it...
