Military Sources, "About 50 N. Korean Submarines Left Their Bases...Can't be Located"

2015.08.23 15:23

/begin my translation

Dozens of N. Korean submarines left their bases at both Eastern and Western coast, and can't be located. Military are increasing their surveillance capability to track them, it is confirmed.

That accounts for 70% of (N. Korea's) submarine fleet, which totals 70 ships. This is the largest rate of deployment since the Korean War.

Military sources said, "This is 10 times more than their normal deployment level. Dozens of them left their bases at both coasts, and we are unable to track them."

They said, "70% of their submarine fleet is not located. We are increasing our surveillance capability to find them."

They suspect that the unusually high level of N. Korea's submarine movements may be for further military provocation, and raised their level of alert.

N. Korea also more than doubled its front-line deployment of artillery power, since the high-level talks began.

The sources said, "Since the talks began, their front-line artillery power has more than doubled."

But then, without any warning, in April 1978, Carter announced that he was deferring production of the neutron bomb—a position that meant, in effect, he was canceling the program.

Yup; I believe it!

You know what Kim is thinking in the bottom picture?

Well, he has a song going through his head, like this:

I am a pirate king!
And it is, it is a glorious thing
To be a Pirate King!

For I am a Pirate King!
On Conning tower officers’ Chorus:
You are!
Hurrah for our Pirate King!
Kim: And it is, it is a glorious thing
To be a Pirate King.
Officers’ Chorus: It is!
Hurrah for our Pirate King!
Kim & Officers; Chorus: Hurrah for the/our Pirate King!

We get a lot of Korean tourists in Virginia. They seem to love coming here and they spend a lot of money. I can’t imagine saving up for a year to bring my family on vacation in a place that I hate. There may be some friction in Korea because Americans don’t have any manners but I don’t think they hate us.

We had Marines with backpack nukes along the DMZ for years. It was their job to prevent the north from overrunning the south. Carter removed the Marines with the nukes.

With this latest report does anyone know or remember if NK has done this level of mobilization during their past provocations? Between the subs, artillery moves, and this report, this level of mobilization would seem to require a vast amount of scarce fuel, food, and other supplies that will be wasted if it’s merely an effort to save face.

You mean those submarines could be rounding Diamond Head right now and we wouldn’t know anything about it?

Does NK use modern boomers? Or old school subs?

The Indian Navy seems to be able to use the MAD on their P-8, okay.

I see this as a big opportunity for us: 1) GET IT OVER WITH!(south wins). 2) Japan has a million ethnic Koreans that they’d like to get rid of(they carry passports). 3) Transfer them to the liberated north, empty the prisons and replace the cliental with ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS in U.S. prisons! WIN-WIN(WIN).

How did those work? I hadn’t heard of them before.

I’m interested in the firing range, the detonation radius, and the relative safety of the service member who fired them off.

This may sound naive, but I'm assuming NK doesn't have any Boomers? Anyone know for sure?

They don't. I doubt they ever will. However, that did not stop them for 'working on it.'

Kim Jong-un was prominently featured riding on a rusty NK sub by NK state media, which was claiming that they are developing a boomer.

Thanks. Glad to hear they don’t. That’s all we would need is NK or Iran with boomers.

Total of 10 landing craft. Moved closer to theater. Also South Korea refusing to stop propaganda broadcasts. Only further escalation will happen now.

Both the ROK and China are looking warily at reunification. The SK’s know the cost will be an order of magnitude worse than the FRG/DDR merger...DPRK will essentially need a “do-over” on everything from infrastructure to culture, and it will cost billions of Won.

China doesn’t want the refugee flood, nor the possibility of the ROK/US settling in along the Yalu again. Interesting times.

Regards,

I trust our national collection assets know where these subs are, and have a contingency plan in place. I believe the DPRK is just rattling it’s saber.
