Ted Cruz would have a busy first day in the White House

If elected president, Ted Cruz would cross five tasks off his list during his first 24 hours in the White House — or so the Texas senator says.

The Republican presidential hopeful told voters at the Iowa State Fair Friday to "look forward to January 2017" as he outlined what his agenda would look like during his first day in office.

"First thing I intend to do in office [is] end every single illegal and unconstitutional executive action taken by this president," Cruz told fair-goers. "The president says he has a phone and a pen, but when you live by the pen you die by the pen.

"And my pen has got an eraser," he added.

The pro-life senator then said he would instruct the Justice Department to initiate an investigation into Planned Parenthood and the "horrible" undercover videos that have emerged from the Center for Medical Progress. Cruz added that he would encourage the DOJ to "prosecute any and all criminal violations by [Planned Parenthood]."

According to Cruz, his third item of business would be to alert the DOJ, Internal Revenue Service and other federal agencies "that the persecution of religious liberty ends today."

"That means for our service men and women, that every one of them can pray and worship God almighty with all of their hearts, minds and souls," Cruz said. "That means that in January 2017, the federal government stops litigating against and persecuting the little sisters of the poor for standing for their faith."

The junior senator then reaffirmed a promise he's previously made to undo the Obama Administration's nuclear agreement with Iran on his first day in the Oval Office.

"The fourth thing I intend to do is rip to shreds this catastrophic Iranian nuclear deal," he said, adding that "the single greatest national security threat facing America today is a threat of nuclear Iran."

Finally, Cruz would embark on an effort relocate the American embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, the "once and eternal capital of Israel," according to Cruz.

"A lot of presidential candidates, both Democrat and Republican have made that promise and yet inevitably, when they get to the White House, their team comes to them and says 'Well gosh, if you do that other folks in the Middle East are going to be really unhappy with you,'" he said, adding that "if you haven't noticed, they're already pretty unhappy with us."

"That's day one," Cruz asserted.

The Texas senator later told voters that his dependability is what distinguishes him from the rest of the GOP field and that his plans as president would also include a full repeal of Obamacare, the elimination of Common Core and the renewal of America's military strength.

"By the end of eight years, newspaper editors and journalists will have checked themselves into therapy," Cruz quipped, before taking questions from the audience.

Busier than that really.

Set the new DOJ on the trail of Clinton and Benghazi (not to mention find out what the Obama DOJ has destroyed in their cover up)

Looking at his conversation. Attorney General is the right job for him. And eventually the USSC.

While he's a quick read and a spirited speaker...just something lacking in his personality and experience.

I really hope Trump is paying attention to this, you know, just in case.

There is only one true conservative and electable candidate in this race. His name is Ted Cruz. Time to end the nonsensical Trumpoonery and focus on reality.

I am certainly not opposed to that. In fact, this has been my thought all along. Cruz is conservative enough a d young enough to be a force on the Court for forty years.

Good place for them. They can do a lot less damage there than with their pens and phones.

I haven’t been listening but from the looks of twitter he’s giving a barn burner of a speech at the AFP event right now.

Will have to accept the resignations of every lawyer working for the AG and appoint staunch conservative constitutionalists.

There is nothing preventing it except the screeching of democrats and I don’t think Ted Cruz would react the way they expect.

He’ll probably get writer’s cramp from signing those hundreds of thousands of H1B visas he promised.

I like Cruz, but I believe he would make a better V. P. than anyone else with Trump.

He would serve 8 years as V. P., 8 years as president, and for the rest of his life on the SCOTUS.

As a debate champion and a man with experience with the SCOTUS, Ted is uniquely positioned to advance an agenda Trump and he agree on.

The vice presidential running mate can really help the ticket. Cruz can present his core ideals with no concern of conflict with Trump’s announced agenda.

When needed, Cruz can advise Trump on dealing with Congress and the SCOTUS. This Trump can learn from him. Cruz can learn high finance and the art of the deal from Trump.

I’m not saying this to be insulting to Cruz supporters. I think Cruz is a good man. I just think the guy with the built-in megaphone and street wise brashness, is Trump.

Trump will get them in. Ted will mop up in the final eight years of their four terms in office.

Then Cruz will go to the SCOTUS and keep it on course.

Prosecute Eric Holder for perjury...and Obama for obstruction of justice.

If he were elected, I might actually start believing this country has a chance again.

Such a long road from here to there though. Sigh

Day one Clinton and Obama accepted the resignations of every federal attorney general’s office attorney in the system. Every one was replaced with hysterical leftists.
