While innocently grilling some pork, Ted Cruz was ambushed by lesbian activist Ellen Page, who tried to shame him for not supporting homosexual marriage. But instead of Cruz being shamed, it was Page who was tongue-tied while Cruz turned the tables on her.
Page claimed that a florist who refused to serve a homosexual wedding was bigoted, but Cruz turned her attention to the Middle East, and asked her why liberals were "completely silent" about the execution of gays, and why Obama is turning over 100 billion dollars to Iran when they are hanging homosexuals. When Page claimed that Christians in Jamaica were discriminating against homosexuals, Cruz turned to her and essentially said, "Are you really equating a florist refusing to work a gay wedding with the execution of homosexuals by ISIS?" He added that it was not morally equivalent, and that "murder is murder is murder."
When Cruz was later asked about his conversation about "discrimination," Cruz corrected the questioner, saying the conversation was about religious liberty. He said that just as a Muslim imam could not be forced to marry a Christian couple in a Christian ceremony, Christian florists or bakers should not be required to participate in homosexual weddings that are against their religious beliefs.
This was a stunning performance, even more so considering that it was a surprise attack. Cruz was calm and cool and collected. He quickly turned the attack back on the attacker, making her look like a hypocrite for not caring about homosexuals executed in the Middle East. He turned a discussion about "discrimination" into one of religious liberty.
This is the kind of candidate we need: someone who is not just a conservative, but an articulate conservative, who can turn the tables on attackers and challenge assumptions of questions.

“Look, I’m trying to eat here. I don’t want to talk about queers.”
The last thing people eating hot dogs want to see is a film showing how they are made.
“And”
LOL
He is a very smart man.
...please pass the butter. Thank you.....
Notice his apron said PORK!
This man has argued critically important issues before the highest court in the nation before sometimes hostile judges. Folks like this woman are like gnats to be simply swatted away.
Well they were both born in Canada, but AFAIK Page is still a Canadian citizen.
If shredding a Hollyweird twit with a high school diploma is the standard, we've set a pretty low bar LOL. But I'm sure McLame or Mediocre Mitt could have been tripped up in that discussion.
He’s done more for America as Texas Solicitor General than the entire field of presidential candidates alone and indeed the entirety of congress has done in the last decade.
Hollywood stars believe they’re smart because they get a lot of money thrown at them for doing very little.
Ellen Page needs to realize that if she wasn’t very cute and able to read a few lines from a script, no one would care what she has to say.
It’s not your intelligence or your political beliefs people watch you for Ellen. It’s you’re a cutie. If you were an ugly feminist hog, you wouldn’t have your Hollywood gig.
Yes he has. My number 1 choice, but I am thoroughly enjoying watching Trump operate in the early going.
Wow...I haven't heard that expression for years.
My dads favourite expression
Cool, calm, and collected.
What “persecution” have homosexuals undergone in this country? Where are all these mass firing of them? Who’s NOT hiring them?
They can flout in public in their disgust “pride” parades, commit sexual acts in public, insult every religion (except Islam) and NOTHING happens to them. Companies and corporations are bending over backwards to show how “diverse” they are with some even being proud of ranking high with the so-called Human Rights Campaign. Say something that raises a small dander with this group and you can expect to lose your job! Persecution of homosexuals in this country, my foot! Even if you went back twenty years, there was no widespread discrimination and persecution of homosexuals because, unless it was flaunted, PEOPLE DIDN’T KNOW!
I will be amused when, 10 years from now and quietly without fanfare, she moves in with or marries some guy who’s “not in the industry” and she leaves “all the empty noise” of Hollywood.
