He's got to maintain tranquility back at the house, man.
His Mexican old lady Columbo doesn't even speak English.
When Obama provided obviously fake and conflicting information and background documentation and no good explanation as to why... people are going to speculate. I have no idea what the circumstances surrounding Obama’s birth are. Despite the claims made by his paternal grandmother... I doubt seriously that his birthplace was Kenya where Obama himself claimed for years that he was born to help sell his books. Obama has proven repeatedly that he is a serial liar, so chances are he was born someplace other than Kenya.
I also am not sure that he was born in either Queen's Medical Center where he initially claimed to have been born when first running for president or Kapiʻolani Medical Center where he is now claiming to have been born. There just is not much credible documentation supporting any of those locations. I know that some people believe that he was actually born in Vancouver BC. But really all we know is that the official narrative does not fit the record very well... especially when it appears that his mother was attending the University of Washington shortly after he was born and was not in Hawaii.
It was simplified for the sound bite. There is a requirement for the parent to have resided in the US for 10 yrs including 5 years from the age of 14. Since Ms. Durham was 18 and could not meet that requirement, citizenship was passed from the father.
My Q&A:
Q. What if the father was also a US citizen but also 18 or under? Who would the citizenship pass from then?
A. Both parents US citizens = different part of the law. child is US citizen.
Q. What if the father was 18 or under and not a US citizen? Who would the citizenship pass from then?
A. I have no idea.
OK, here is the law as it stood when both Obama and Cruz were born:
http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/STATUTE-66/pdf/STATUTE-66-Pg163.pdf
Section 301. (a) The following shall be nationals and citizens of the United States at birth:
(1) a person born in the United States, and subject to the
jurisdiction thereof;
(2) N/A (Status of Indians/Eskimos)
(3) a person born outside of the United States and its outlying possessions of parents both of whom are citizens of the United States and one of whom has had a residence in the United States or one of its outlying possessions, prior to the birth of such person;
(4) a person born outside of the United States and its outlying possessions of parents one of whom is a citizen of the United States who has been physically present in the United States or one of its outlying possessions for a continuous period of one year prior to the birth of such person, and the other of whom is a national, but not a citizen of the United States;
(5) N/A (”born in an outlying possession”)
(6) N/A (”a person of unknown parentage found in the US”)
(7) a person born outside the geographical limits of the United States and its outlying possessions of parents one of whom is an alien, and the other a citizen of the United States who, prior to the birth of such person, was physically present in the United States or its outlying possessions for a period or periods totaling not less
than ten years, at least five of which were after attaining the age of fourteen years: Provided That any periods of honorable service in the Armed Forces of the United States by such citizen parent may be included in computing the physical presence requirements of this paragraph.
“There is a requirement...”
I should have said “There was a requirement.” Much of this has been revised since that time.
I would add that this only appears to speak to the “born in Kenya” theory for Obama, which is weak at best. But it does put Cruz (paragraph 7) in the same legal status at birth as one born in the US to parents who are citizens (paragraph 1).
Of course John McCain was born a US citizen but is a he a natural born citizen? Which is necessary to be president and vice-president
However there was never a ruling of an invalid marriage and Dunham and Obama were granted a legal divorce which named Barack Obama, II as the offspring of that legal marriage.
Five Democrat Senators: McCaskill, Obama, Clinton, Leahy and Webb and one Republican, Coburn sponsored/co-sponsored Senate Resolution 511 acknowledging that McCain was a natural born citizen.

“John McCain (born in Panama)......Ineligible as far as I know, Was he born on a military base? No one is sure. Last I read he was born in a hospital off the military base”
I’m not entirely sure where exactly he was born, but I do recall that Congress looked into this in 2008 and determined that he was eligible. Of course, there was no curiosity about the eligibility of his opponent.
I think so. I see nothing in the circumstances of his birth that would suggest a likelihood of loyalty to any other nation. I'm assuming that he did not qualify for citizenship of any other nation.
I agree with you. The official record is a mess, that’s for sure. It’s clear he’s lying about something.
I believe Jeb’s middle name is “CONFUSION.”
The term "Natural Born Citizen" is not clearly defined in US Code. At the height of the birther controversy some researchers had managed to find a few mentions in case law, but none of them were about the Presidency, and it was not clear that the judges writing them at the time meant anything different from 'citizen at birth'.
The simplest definition of Natural Born Citizen is "citizen at birth". Effectively that is the one that Obama used to claim his eligibility.
It lines up with how people think about things: everyone can tell you whether they themselves were born as US citizens or took steps to become one (naturalized).
The alternatives posited by various birthers were many. They include: both parents being citizens, neither parent having dual citizenship, being born in the USA, being born in a state (not a territory like D.C. and Canal Zone, having one's father be a citizen, and others I've forgotten.
Because there was a lack of compelling evidence to support these definitions they never achieved critical mass in the public's mind. And of course the courts shameless dodging of taking Obama eligibility cases meant none of them was given a actual hearing in court.
In my opinion that means that we are probably left with "natural born citizen" meaning a citizen at birth, by any means.
