The investigations and the scrutiny will have their effect. A resignation here, a candidate choosing not to run there. But no one will go to jail or be punished in the legal sense for the violations of law in Hillary Clintons use of a private server for official State Department business.
Washington DC, just like Wall Street, seems immune to punishment for the violation of law. Once a perpetrator has been nailed to the political wall, the issue decided, the political power shifts and the political maneuvers result. Political capital is acquired by one group, lost by another. But do not hold your breath for punishment in the legal sense. No one will go to jail.

The Rule of Law is dead.
Not so quick there to pass judgement. We still haven’t played the 9th inning.
Such pessimism. You sound defeated already.
If the email scandal continues to lower her poll numbers, Hillary will be pushed out of the race because she won’t be able to beat a Republican. That will be the only consequence for her. She will have failed in political terms, but there will be no legal consequences for her violation of security laws and regulations.
In this country laws are for the little people, not the political elites.
Hillary’s email scandal will be like her Benghazi scandal which will be like the 8 years of her White House scandals which will be like her Rose Law firm scandals which will be like.....
In other words, she is a democrat and is excused from bad behavior.
Just not to seeing any real consequences to their actions. Yet Scooter Libby can’t remember what he had for dinner on a particular Tuesday 8 years ago and, even knowing ‘dick’ armitage was the valerie plame perp, Scooter got the shaft. Odd how some of these assclowns manage to skate by.
“In this country laws are for the little people, not the political elites.”
IIRC, the French strung up their political elites. But what took over was even worse.
The author equates political crimes with Wallstreet “crimes”.
Except that Wallstreet is often just interpreting what the political class throws their way, like Dodd-Frank legislation. That is their protection from prosecution. Wallstreet can hide under the investor beware mantra.
The political class commits the actual crimes.
If anyone comes close to proving Hillary’s criminality, they will end up next to Vince Foster.
Absolutely true in this case. At the very minimum, it is mishandling of classified information. I had a secret security clearance while I was in the Army (most infantry squad leaders and above do) If I would have downloaded a satellite image and sent it to anyone on an unsecured server, I would have immediately lost my security clearance and be seeking an attorney, because I would have been arrested.
What people don't realize is, Hillary keeps saying that she hasn't sent any emails that "were marked classified" well everyone in her line of work knows this doesn't matter. If I have a piece of classified information and knowingly send it to anyone who is outside the network of systems that it should be sent on, I can be charged, whether I marked it "classified" or not. In fact, removing those identifiers is implicit in knowing it was classified in the first place.
Those who work in the intelligence community are beside themselves with frustration and anger over this, and more so with Hillary and the administration in general.
The "employee" must be really concerned.
It is because of Gowdy’s investigation that we even know about Hillary’s email crimes.
NO NO NO ! I just cleared on spot on the wall of my den for the framed picture of her mug shot.
Don’t go about ruining my dreams!!! :-)
THE GREAT PUMPKIN MUST HAVE A MUG SHOT!!!
I read a few weeks ago that she was going to testify under oath in a closed hearing.
Is that still on? When?
How much time did Sandy Berger spend in prison?
