You know who’s on my mind? Josh Duggar’s wife. That poor little thing comes across as so naive and sweet. She didn’t deserve to get hooked up with a sleazebag like Josh.

Anyone can use a false name on the internet but getting a credit card under a false name. That can not be easily done. It would appear they are looking at credit card transactions/address in this. They did not just hack the email you know.
Credit card hackers typically steal the CC number and the 3 digit security code and quickly run up lots of charges on the card, usually for on-line purchases or they sometimes even replicate the card for physical purchases long before the owner or the credit card companies get wise to the fraudulent transactions.
This is why I have alerts set up on both of my CC’s that alert me to all activity – any purchases and also an alert when my payment is due and when my payment has posted. Heck sometimes I get an email and a txt alert to my phone as to purchases I’ve made before I even get home from the store or within minutes of making an on-line purchase. Just last week I used my CC to purchase gas and after I was done pumping and got back into my car, I saw I had a txt message on my phone as to the purchase I had just made. I highly recommend it. It is easy to set up and doesn’t cost anything to set up.
I also log into my bank account on-line nearly on a daily basis. That way I can quickly see if any fraudulent purchases were made using my bank debit/credit card plus keep a current reconciliation on my account – if you are only looking at your CC or bank statement delivered by snail mail once a month, you really need to consider leveraging available technology to protect yourself just as the thieves use technology against you. And FWIW if anyone tries to change my phone number, physical address or email address for any of my accounts, I get an email and or txt to my existing contact information and I have to confirm that I’ve actually made that change before they will process it.
I will also say that about a year ago my bank called me about a suspicious purchase charged to my bank debit card, some purchase made at a sporting goods store in CA and asked if I had made the purchase and of course I hadn’t. They denied the charge and immediately closed the account and issued me a new card with a new number and PIN and 3 digit security code that very same day – all I had to do was go to my local branch and show my ID and pick up my new card.
Identity thieves on the other hand do fraudulently open CC accounts, even sometimes apply for mortgages or file tax returns in order to get refunds in other people’s name if they have enough information to do so – and sadly a SSN, DOB and current income and current employment information is often enough – it is a lot easier than most people think it is. : (
But the identity thieves do not typically use the real person’s real physical address or real email address as that would be a tip off as to the fraud and alert the person being scammed. They often don’t want you, if they’ve stolen your identity, for you to get a CC or a CC statement in the mail or an email notification of a payment due or if filing a tax return in your name and under your SSN, for you to get the refund check in the mail, so they will use a fraudulent address or use your real address but then very quickly put in change of address, link their own bank accounts for any direct deposit transactions, long before anything goes out to the real person from whom they’ve stolen their identity.
One of the things you can do to protect yourself against this sort of fraud is put a credit or security freeze on your credit reports. It is not 100% fool proof and there is a small fee involved but it is a very good idea. I have a credit freeze on mine and I’m not famous or even a “celebrity”.
This is why I tend to think that Josh Duggar/Ashley Madison link is probably true.

Duggar, with a billing address that matches the home in Fayetteville, Arkansas owned by his grandmother Mary - a home that was consistently on their now-cancelled TV show, and in which Anna Duggar gave birth to her first child - paid a total of $986.76 for two different monthly Ashley Madison subscriptions from February of 2013 until May of 2015.”
If the CC was linked to his real physical billing addresses and email accounts and if the charges were billed to his CC account on a monthly basis as opposed to a one-time charge, IMO he’s got some ‘splaing to do. If I as someone who isn’t a high profile or reality TV show personality can put into place some very basic protections against CC fraud and identity theft, I find it hard to believe that someone like Josh Duggar, someone in the spotlight and a target, wouldn’t or couldn’t do the same.

I know about credit card thieves but it does not explain how they (the thieves) would know to move his account with his change of address.
It does not also explain the sudden end in the account in May just when the other sex scandal broke. Remember we are talking credit card thieves, and those may take years to stop and just by chance it stopped in May? Yea, right. It’s him.
I will bet that someone told him how In Touch Weekly was going through his life like a salt enema and if he was doing anything else “embarrassing” to stop it pronto, which he did. His past still found him out.

Remember in the news it said that JoBob or what ever the fathers name is and Michelle hired a PR firm? I am pretty sure that firm told Josh “if you are doing ANYTHING in a perverted, sexual nature be it on the internet, back alleys, seedy motels, local porn shops,girly shows, bathroom stalls, whatever, stop it now because In Touch Weekly is watching you like a hawk” Or something to that affect.
