They do better in the eyes of God to work through this. But if she divorces, she must remain single or reconcile.

Do you believe people who divorce and remarry while their spouse is alive are Christians?

Then you’ve answered your own question. Josh and those not married to their original living spouse are still Christians. They may be living in sin, but they are still Christians.

You must be right, because the pic is gone now.

But all I can say is, Josh has some mad Photoshopping/editing skills....the guy is doughy.

The Bible states you should reconcile or stay single, if divorced.

Except in the case of adultery (Mt 19:9)

No, your vow is your vow/covenant and must stay until death.

You salvation is a similar vow/covenant and is just as permanent.

Let's get back to your reference:

Mt 19:9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

In reading this, if you are the one who slept with your “non-wife,” you committed adultery at that very time. Jesus is saying here that if you didn't sleep with a “non-wife,” but divorce your current wife to marry another and marry her and sleep with her, you commit adultery at that time.

Jesus further states that, due to the vow the married woman had with the husband who left her, whoever marries this poor lady (who may not have ever slept with another), will force her to commit adultery when they have sex with her (while the prior adulterous husband is alive).

It is expected to remain single or reconcile (1 Cor. 7:11).

Of all the people to frame... you think they’d go after Josh Duggar?

I wasn't trying to defend him in any way, just pointing out that data released by hackers that is supposedly from some server may or may not be authentic. More recent news indicates that the data regarding Mr. Duggar is likely to be authentic.

In my opinion anyone who falls for the kind of idea promoted by web sites like Ashley Madison is a fool to say the least.

So far, so good, assuming that my wife, in your example, did not commit adultery...

Jesus further states that, due to the vow the married woman had with the husband who left her, whoever marries this poor lady (who may not have ever slept with another), will force her to commit adultery when they have sex with her (while the prior adulterous husband is alive).

Here's where we part ways. If the put-away wife has an adulterous husband, then Jesus' teaching in Mt 19:9 clearly states that she is free to remarry. If the husband has not committed adultery, then neither he nor the wife is free to remarry; Scripture teaches, as you correctly say, that they must reconcile or remain single.

We, perhaps wrongly, vow, “until death do us part.”

If you did this (I did), we are vow/covenanted until death.

You are never “relieved” from your vows.

Okay, now I see where you're coming from. I also vowed "until death do us part" and fully intend to fulfill those vows (besides, we have 32 years invested and are too old to break in another spouse). However, to be serious, we also vowed to forsake all others and to be true to each other. If either of us breaks the forsake/be true vow, then I believe that releases the other party from the "till death do us part" vow. Of course, it's not mandatory; hopefully we could reconcile and remain married even in the event of adultery. However, I believe the Bible teaches that the offended party is free to divorce and remarry in the case of spousal adultery. It's the only way I see of reconciling Jesus' teaching in Mt 19 with other Bible passages on marriage. Anyway, I have enjoyed the discussion and admire your commitment to your marriage. Best regards....

No other party can break your vow. Our marriage vows are to each other and to God.

FRegards.
