Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon (Likud) encouraged constant vigilance on Wednesday, during a visit to the "Jordan Lions" Brigade in the Jordan Valley.
"The result in every encounter with terrorists should be like this: that you remain standing while the terrorist is on the ground," he stated. "You should be aware that someone is looking at you and looking for the weak spot."
Ya'alon also addressed the waves of terror rippling through Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria.
"In Judea and Samaria, we are going through a time of multiple incidents," he said. "The trick is not to become a target by terror networks or individual attempts to carry out attacks, and if that happens you need to work immediately to neutralize the threat."
"The result in every encounter with a terrorist should be, you're standing and the terrorist is on the ground," he reiterated. "If you respond by transmitting a sense of vigilance through a professional and determined response to the threat, you will decrease the chances of injury."

Send them all TO THE MOON!
dear eleu,
the R.O.E. has been given.
react, and put the sumbitch down, period!
(I wonder if they still do the drill from conealed, where they are charging the firearm, as part of the draw, from hammer down and empty chamber ...)
I still believe a single action, cocked and locked pistol, drawn with the thumb holding down the safety, is a good method. Why not? it’s worked since 1911.
... you remain standing while the terrorist is on the ground...
Good advice. The tactic used twice in seconds in Garland, Texas. It works.
One of the Palestinians tossed a grenade at the Israelis, but it fell short and landed between the two sides.
One of the Israeli soldiers leapt up, crossed no-mans-land (which was about ten feet wide) grabbed the guy who threw the grenade, picked him up, walked out and stood facing the grenade while holding the Pali off the ground in a choke hold.
The grenade went off, and the IDF guy dropped the Pali and went back to his side. The Pali didn't get up.
Preferably dropped from a high flying aircraft or tall building.
Gosh. The UN will hear about this. Next thing you know the terrorists will start getting scared of the IDF, and who knows what that might cause.
Or with a large round fired at supersonic speed.
No. It has to be a thick sheaf of paper with lots of confusing legalese written all over it. Then you have ROE.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

But, but TERRORIST LIVES MATTER.
dear eleu,
not for the Israelis.

If everybody would get it through their head, that it is the THUG who determines: which of us he will strike; when he will strike; the method; and what he perceives that we own that is rightfully his, once he removes us from his path.
Therefore, it is WE who must react to his act, with extreme violence and finality.
Yup, and if possible blow a hole at least six foot deep under the terrorist so all you have to do is cover it.
It needn’t be wide, just deep enough to throw him in head first.
True. But that is a simple truth. The UN, EU, ICC, US State Department and the like have a big problem with simple truths. Lin Yutang says why. Read Between Tears and Laughter, Doubleday, 1940, and you will get a goodly dose of simple truths that you will like.
dear Eleu,
I, yes I, me, this ol’ geezer, was a government wonk, so yes, i know how voluminous simple things can get when in the hands of bureaucrats that have to display their collegiate language skills ... (I have been writing since the age of 8), I used to write the darn reg’s and manuals.
Thank you for the reference to that piece of literature, though.
