The transgender suicide epidemic: is accepting their confusion really the answer?
LifeSiteNews ^ | 8/18/15 | Father Mark Hodges

August 18, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) – People who suffer from gender confusion are encouraged by the current cultural climate to "be themselves," meaning reject the gender they were born with.

"Transgender" teens are taught that what they feel is who they are and that to be happy and fulfilled, they must become the opposite sex. When Bruce Jenner decided to publicly look like a woman, he was supported by the mass media. Even the president of the United States, when Jenner decided to have castration surgery, applauded him as a "courageous" hero.

But studies repeatedly show that "transgender" people who seek to become the opposite sex are in fact not happy or fulfilled. In fact, a life-or-death internal war is continually going on within, to the degree that many, if not most, seek to end their lives.

That's what the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the Williams Institute found when the foundation analyzed results from the National Transgender Discrimination Survey. The numbers of suicide attempts are heartbreaking.

Over 41 percent of active "transgender" people try to kill themselves. That's ten times the average 4.6 percent suicide attempt rate.

And this study isn't the only one proving that those who seek to live as if they were the opposite sex are, in fact, killing themselves. Over a dozen other surveys worldwide have found the same alarmingly high suicide rates.

A national survey of more than 6,500 transgender people asked the question "Have you tried to commit suicide?" Forty-one percent answered, "Yes."

"Chronically high stress levels," "anxiety," and "depression" are most commonly reported among active transgender people. Self-harm by cutting is often reported as well.

The suicide hotline for them, Trans Lifeline, handled more than 20,000 calls in its first nine months of operation alone. Greta Gustava Martela, a lesbian who founded the hotline, summarizes, "With 41% attempting suicide, you have to assume something's just not working for transgender folks."

The mainstream media attributes the exploding transgender suicide rate to outside influences, such as peer and parental rejection, but does not consider the transgender person's tragic internal battle as intrinsic to living a psychological dichotomy.

The facts speak otherwise. The University of Birmingham's Aggressive Research Intelligence Facility (ARIF) conducted a medical review that found that there is no conclusive evidence that sex change operations improve the lives of transsexuals. In fact, many transsexuals remain severely internally distressed and suicidal after the operation.

Chris Hyde, the director of ARIF, explained, "A large number of people who have [sex change] surgery remain traumatized – often to the point of committing suicide."

And yet the effort to ignore the suicidal facts and teach even grade school children that transgender people are fulfilling their "true" selves continues. As Stella Morabito of The Federalist writes, "The [transgender] guy isn't allowed to talk about his regret. Not openly. The transgender lobby actively polices and suppresses discussion of sex-change regret."

Some transgender patients have said they realized, too late, that sex change operations did not live up to their promise. Alan Finch explains, "You fundamentally can't change sex. ... The surgery doesn't alter you genetically.  It's genital mutilation[.] ... It's all been a terrible misadventure[.] ... The analogy I use about giving surgery to someone desperate to change sex is it's a bit like offering liposuction to an anorexic."

Tennis champion Renée Richards, who went from male to "female" in the '70s, wrote, "I would have been better off staying the way I was – a totally intact person[.] ... I don't want anyone to hold me out as an example to follow[.] ... I get a lot of letters from people who are considering having this operation ... and I discourage them all."

I was watching a medical channel on cable, it was about a hospital emergency room in New York City, I think it was Saint Vincents’ but I am not sure. Anyway, there seems to be a gay population in the area. During the show two homosexuals came in with cuts administered by other homosexuals. One guy was cut on the hand buy his ex boyfriend at a club and another was hit on the head with a bottle, his head was bleeding profusely. The doctors had to put a clamp on a head artery. As watched I this I wondered if this was typical night at a gay bar.

Another thought came to me, I wonder if gay activists lie about the number of gays attacked by heterosexual people? I wonder if they compile police or medical records of homosexuals who are beaten up outside of gay bars and attribute it to “homophobe” bigots? Anything to keep the propaganda mill going.

Homosexual women are even worse for domestic violence than their counter parts from what I have seen and heard.

The Democrats made alliances with both Planned Parenthood and the gay activists in the 1970s. That was when I left and I never looked back. If enough Democrats had done the same, the Democratic Party would have ceased to exist and we would not have the nightmare scenario that we are seeing today.

Everything that is of the hellish left comes from the minds of intellectuals. They are very much like Lucifer when you study them, they are full of pride and seem to think that they know better than God.

All my kids think homosexuals and cross dresses are the most disgusting thing and thinks they are freaks.

They have been told for some time about how the media etc will try and brain wash them.

I am turning my 12 year old grand daughter into a media *denier*. ;^D
I point out how the media plays its tricks on us. She was surprised when she finally got it. I was explaining about the George Zimmerman, Trayvon Martin case. I broke it down for her and asked her : Would Trayvon Martin have beat up on Zimmerman if he knew that Zimmerman had a gun? Oh! She said: Trayvon attacked Zimmerman because he thought he was unarmed like himself. He never would have attacked Zimmerman if he knew that he had a gun. I popped the “unarmed man” balloon and she will not fall for that ever. She now knows that CNN and the MSM lies with no shame or conscience.

good for you. I did that as well. Since they were young I always told tem how the media and movies will try and push things into your face so in the future it will be normal for you to see. As they go into teen age I tell them how some kids will be different and have some problems, and maybe some will try and outcast you.

They have all learned and now my oldest is marine special forces, well soon on a few months having passed everything. Others are ROTC BN SGT Major, boys state, represent county in various other classes and events.

The only way we can protect this country is by telling our children the dangers of what is out there while they are young and to stand up for their principles , regardless of a couple of kids try to outcast them.

I am lucky though because we live in a county where republicans outnumber Dems and non party combined so my kids have a lot of friends .

Keep up the good work.

You did a great job of raising your fine family. We need lots more like you. I, unfortunately, live in the armpit of America—Massachusetts. People in Massachusetts are just dumb Democrats, there is also that activist group of moonbats but we have some great conservative radio hosts such as Jeff Kuhner and Howie Carr.

Have you been following the story of Bella Bond, the little 3 year old who was fund in a plastic bag by Boston Harbor? Little Bella is just one in a series of children who have been failed by the selfish corrupt department of children and family during the past several years. The people put in charge do not care about the children, many of the social workers are just political hacks and the good social workers don’t have power to do stop this abuse. I thought the state was supposed to stop all these problems when they took over—no more Oliver Twist stories. Very sad and Governor Deval Patrick appointed the top official, Olga Roche, a “good friend” of his.

Lived in Quincy , but I persuaded the misses we need to move south and she agreed.
Love it down here. Ma is a nice state, but to live there inhabited by many of the people just wasn;t going to be for me.

Good luck.
