. . .
From across the border, another piece of news reached us regarding a rape victim in India who was required to provide irrefutable evidence of her purity. This proof was not a DNA testing, (not) astonishingly enough; rather the requisite was the rape victim balancing a monstrous 40 kilogram rock on her head.
Passing this sanctity test, the woman would be at leisure to continue her former life with her husband failing it, I shudder to think what would follow. Supposed to be her agnipariksha (ordeal), the test was mandatory so as to know if the womans tainted honour was at fault or not. Agnipariksha, from the Ramayana, was a test that even Sita had to go through as a post-abduction concept. If Goddesses could do it, shouldnt women be able to do it too? Because at the end of the day, pure women are born with unspoken superpowers that enable them to lift humongous loads on their heads.

Monty Python’s Holy Grail scenes make more sense.
In India, woman must balance rock on head to prove innocence.
In America, woman has rocks in head, deletes emails, and still runs for President, and insists she is innocent despite all evidence to the contrary.
What a country! (w/apologies to Yakov Smirnoff)
40 kilograms is around 85 pounds. I had to go to the source to check the religion and it was Muslim. This sounds like a test prior to stoning. Balance a rock about the same as your weight or the rocks will fly towards you.
I can balance a rock on my head, load my rifle, and empty it with accuracy.
Men of India: You’ve been warned!
Talk about a metaphor for a hard head..
Talk about war against women!
Women should require men balance the same on their winky to prove it hasn’t been anywhere near a goat.
Why do we let these people into our society ?
Its like the ‘dunking chairs’ in old Salem.
That was the first thought that came to my mind too.
So is this where the term “ Getting your rocks off” for sex came from?
I think it's Hindu. The Ramayana is a Hindu epic, and Sita a Hindu goddess. The writer criticizes the treatment of rape victims in both India and Pakistan, though. "This is no different from the laws that deal with rape in rural Pakistan, which demand a total of four male eyewitnesses..."
I believe the latter requirement is Muslim. "The classical Maliki madhhab doctrine held that a case of rape has the same requirements as proving the case of zina: (1) four male witnesses who testify that they saw the rape and the act of penetration, or (2) confession by the accused." [Wikipedia]
Hell nope.
These savages may as well be living 1000 years ago.
I only went by the photo and the nearness to the Pakistan border. I assumed in error I guess. Awful regardless of which religion.
In America women wear slut pride tshirts and get drunk and have lots of sex. And think that is what being a liberated, empowered woman is all about today.
> “Awful regardless of which religion.” <
Yes.
