The Donald didn’t get that rich by not knowing when to hold ‘em and when to fold ‘em. He has timed his entry into the fray perfectly.

The reason Sanders and Trump are as popular as they are, is that like Perot and Nader before them, people are fed up with politics as usual. We’re never going to see an established third party (the Dems and the GOP have a lock on that), but people who don’t want to be pigeonholed into one party or another like these outside or protest candidates. I’d still be very surprised if Trump doesn’t flame out somewhere real soon, with some statement that he can’t walk back. Same with Sanders. But, we shall see.

Trump is saying what Americans have been begging to hear from their nation’s leaders for a very long time.
Anything he would say that would suggest a need to walk-back would only “offend” those on the left or those that wouldn’t have voted for him in the first place. So far. all of his “controversial” comments have only made him more popular.

Your case would hold water except that it was an established party that was eliminated and replaced . . . in 1856 by one of the now-established parties. I know, it hasn't happened in a while, but even the Perot stuff didn't have this level of discontent.
BTW, I've been doing a lot of research on Perot for a book and found that one study found that if people had thought Perot could win, enough would have voted for him that he WOULD have won. (Kind of scary). In other words, it was all about confidence. Trump has it, Perot really didn't generate it.

Its funny how easy it is to fight the media, you just need a backbone and fight back and everyone will fold. Most Republicans would surrender very quickly when under pressure from the media

This is completely different than Perot. Back in 1992, people believed America was still functional. They had jobs, no chimpouts in major cities, and people had a decent quality of life.
Not so anymore.

Haven't seen evidence yet that my man Ted Cruz has been caught off-guard by all these Trump goings-on. Seems to just continue plugging away at beefing up his on-the-ground State teams as if his campaign might have anticipated all this was coming from Trump.
Hmmm...

Id still be very surprised if Trump doesnt flame out somewhere real soon, with some statement that he cant walk back. The political cliche "walk it back" is getting quite tired. It's right up there in tiredness with the "he's playing chess while the others are playing checkers".
Anyway, when has Trump walked any of his statement back?

The Donald is showing them what “ Gravitas” is...... He can’t be bought, they need him more than he needs them, and he didn’t before mega rich by being a fool. He also can talk without a script or preplanned points.... Something they can not do.

They were all wrong about Trump because they are wrong about everything.

Unless he's says something truly outrageous along the lines of he likes eating babies or supports The Holocaust, he's on a line to win the nomination ... easily
