How wide an opening is it capable of spanning. I am in a situation of an apartment with marginal central A/C and it might make more sense to use something like this and not try to beat the guts out of the main unit. But its windows slide horizontally and they are tall.

I would say probably 32 inches maybe a bit more. Wouldn’t take much to place a spacer in the area needed to be filled in. I would use something like Luan, 1/4 plywood, or if it gets hit by rain perhaps plexiglass.

If you are interested, FReep mail me your email address and I will take a couple of photos of mine with the intake/exhaust in the window. It just sits in the opening and the window closes down on it with tabs to hold it in place.

Oops, sorry didn't read all the specs. I do now remember the extra pieces of plastic that came with it when we opened ours up and put together the exhaust hoses...
