Donald Trump Takes on New Hampshire

Trump has a commanding lead in the New Hampshire polls. The latest RealClearPolitics average has him at 24.5%, Bush at 11% and Kasich at 10%. And while the latest poll from The Boston Herald/Franklin Pierce University suggests that Trump's lead could be slipping - putting him at 18%, Bush at 13%, and Kasich at 12% - he's still the front-runner.

*snip*

Trump's team in New Hampshire says the response they've heard from people around the Granite State so far has been "phenomenal."

"I must have heard at least 15 times today that the thing people like about Trump is he says what we are all thinking but can't bear to say," said State Rep. Fred Doucette, the co-chairman of Trump's New Hampshire campaign. "He's a straight talker. He says what he thinks and thinks what he says and sticks to it and tells the truth. People are sick of the same old same old. They are sick of the politicians. We are ready for a businessman to run this country."

Doucette believes New Hampshire's famously independent spirit and independent voting track record fit well with what Trump is selling. "I think New Hampshire people are straight talkers and they like the truth and they like to hear straight talk," he said.

He's not alone. Last week, the Trump campaign's New Hampshire headquarters in Manchester was packed with people, filling two separate large rooms, who came to root for their guy during the first primary debate.

A Trump Iowa-NH-NC trifecta almost guarantees him the nomination, even if Bush or Rubio wins in Florida.

A Trump Iowa-NH-NC trifecta might even make a Florida win possible.

If Trump can expand and polish his message, his momentum will continue. If he is repetitive, he will wear thin.

So we’ll have two NY liberals to choose from in the general.

What is the most liberal idea/policy Trump advocated in his 2011 book, Time to get Tough?

He keeps rolling on creating a firewall of support that will be hard to overcome.

The most recent FL polls I’ve seen showed Trump leading.

I think what will happen is Trump will take the opening primaries. Several of the lower tier candidates will lose their donors and drop out. Cruz is going to take the SEC with Trump not far behind. Several more will drop out.

By the last primaries, Bush will have a couple of states as will Trump and Cruz. Going into the convention, a decision will need to be made. Trump is the only one with options, because if Bush makes it to the convention, he is the inevitable choice of RNC.

Question here is, if Trump looks like he will be abandoned at the convention, after running a successful campaign, will he go third party or throw all his support behind Cruz?

The way I see it as of now, I would bet on a Cruz/Bush ticket. There is no reason why Bush can’t wait 8 years.

One of the primary election issues in NH is the heroin abuse epidemic that is devastating their state and this country. I have a feeling they’re gonna love what Donald Trump has to say Mexico and drugs.

You’re a fantasy writer. You know from your own work that you can put any words into a persons mouth.

Trump (D-NY) is worth $10 billion. 1% of his wealth is $100 million. 1% of that is $1 million. What conservative cause over the last five years has Trump donated a million dollars to?

Show me something? A donation to Hillsdale College? To an adoption center? Something conservative with his money?

Trump (Do-nothing - NY)

He talks purty.

Haha. If you can’t answer the question, change the subject. A very liberal tactic, to be sure.

We’ll have to see how it plays out. I don’t know the specifics, but I’m told there is a sore loser law that limits Trump’s options on going third party. As far as teaming up goes, I’d rather see Trump and Cruz than Cruz and Bush.

What was the question?

Was it about how Trump (Do-Nothing - NY) has done nothing concrete in 5+ years to promote the conservative cause? Not a single donation to a conservative group? Hillsdale College? Did he buy up Larry’s books and give them out to employees, friends and acquaintances? Something? Anything?

I’m fielding a dozen replies or so, please remind me.

Thanks for those updates! I’d heard about the rest, but NC is news to me. Trump’s on a definite roll.

Haha.

Hahaha.

The thread isn’t even twenty posts long. You can good and well go back and read the jquestion for yourself.

But you won’t, bc there is no good answer. So rather than shoot your principle assertion in the foot—I mean, the head—you will continue to play games.

You lose.

How do I know? The royalty checks don't come with buyers' names. Bush didn't. Kasich sure hasn't. Cruz hasn't.

But you're off again on what are conservative litmus test issues, and I've already told you I'm done with that debate. To me the only conservative value right now is that WE THE PEOPLE get to choose a leader, even if it's not what the elites want.
