I’ve heard Dennis Prager say that the religion of most American Jews is not Judaism. It’s liberalism.
Franken’s religion is not a factor in his political thinking. Keeping his place in line to worship (or whatever it is that he does) at the feet of his muslim leader is what’s important to him as it clearly is to all members of the socialist democrat caucus of which he is a member.
That’s exactly right. I read a book by Norman Podhoretz, called “Why are Jews Liberal?” and he just didn’t answer it. Some of it is the historical Jewish guilt, some of it comes from being in a minority that was discriminated against and an empathy with others in a similar position. But ultimately, it’s incomprehensible.
