Wow, even the Wall Street Journal has to take a shot at him!
All the vested interests are scared.
He doesn't play by the old-boys rule book.

The New York developer has rejected paid television advertising as unnecessary,
**********************************************************************
He’s right, so far. Why pay for ads when you already have wall to wall coverage?
To: Steelfish
Trump is getting more air time than anyone else, so there is no need for advertisements.
As far as getting on the ballot, that could be problematic. But we will see. His popularity is high enough, he may be able to do it with volunteers.

Ebenezer Scrooge liked the dark because it was free.
Donald Trump likes Twitter for the same reason.
To: Steelfish
Why not? Thus far he is dominating the news cycle and polls by using free media like Twitter.

The guy does not need TV ads right now. He gets all the free TV he can handle.

Politicians buy TV time to get name recognition.
Obviously Trump doesn’t need that. He is getting hours a day of free advertising on all the national networks.
Sometime next week he will say something else to get the MSM riled up and put his name out there even more.
The worst thing that could happen to Trump is that they start spelling his name wrong.

I think Perot did it with mostly volunteers.
But I do have to admit it bothers me that he doesn’t seem to be interested in getting on the ballots. The other republicans and the media could ignore him and he’d probably go away. I hope not.

Yes, but ballot access is a BIG deal. Games to keep Reagan off of the ballot in Pennsylvania and New York in 1976 likely cost him the nomination.

Exactly. The more the media frets and fumes and goes on about “This is Trumps last time....” BS, the more coverage he gets!
And me personally, I think anyone who the media hates and the GOP’rs hate and the Dems hate, well, that sounds good to me!

Sounds good to me. Why should Trump spend his money now when he has clearly mastered how to get the media to cover him for free. Maybe he can be as successful with the government and save some of our tax money.

If he says it is unnecessary then it is probably unnecessary. He is getting plenty of publicity anyway. Should MSM try a blackout then the ads will come.

What do you mean by Trump not being interested in getting on the ballot? What is the first deadlines? Are there any even set yet? I'm suspecting none are yet set so this is just another "Trump is not serious and will quit" wishful whine. Trump is not playing by the traditional rules that have led most past candidates to defeat, he has not "paid his dues", and he's sucked the air out of everyone's campaigns. Oh, No!
Fantastic! This is the 'thinking outside the box' that we need to break the same-old, same-old mold that we see from all of the other candidates.
