'Teflon Don' is at it again. Is this for real? I mean, I know it is- but...Donald Trump? The true frontrunner for our dear GOP? I have to admit, I am still skeptical of him- but he is saying all the right things...this speech tonight even made me believe. Anyone else coming around? I've seen the polls...but how many of you really are considering voting for Trump? We should have some kind of Freeper Poll by state. This is gettin' kinda real. He can't be dismissed anymore.

Thx

Amazing that many on this forum of all things favor politicians over a billionaire businessman who has never been a politician.

What's more amazing is the number of people who fall for the same game the Clinton's played that led to BJ's two terms.

He is a great communicator, isn’t he? Not in the same way as RR, but a great communicator nonetheless. And...I guarantee the US Govt is not too big for him to manage.

Trump is saying the same things Reagan said, but in the style of Trump...

“Trump stated very clearly that he thinks political bribes in the way of contributions to get favors is an acceptable practice.”

Not true. He has very clearly stated that his “political bribes” were legal....and distasteful. But he followed the law in order to get things done business-wise, and did NOT find it acceptable that it should be this way.

Not supporting Trump at all.

I will say however that Birch Run is probably the perfect spot for him to campaign. The white areas of suburban Flint and Saginaw is his type of territory. That's Perot country.

Here’s what I want to happen.

I want Cruz as POTUS, but I think he needs to ride in as Trump’s VP.

I think that Trump could increase his lead dramatically by announcing a partnership with Cruz.

Trump runs for the nomination, Cruz steps aside and implores his followers to join team Trump.

Trump/Cruz announce that Trump will serve two years and then turn the presidency over to Cruz who could theoretically then serve 10 years as POTUS.

I’ll bet two years would be plenty for Trump, he just want’s to win and put the country back on course.

So Trump does his best for two years and a day and then goes back to his business empire.

Cruz takes over and brings in a solid conservative as his VP [perhaps Palin, perhaps not]

All this would cause an uproar in American politics..nothing like it has ever been attempted before.
It would have the effect of consolidating the votes for Trump and Cruz and also any supporters of the VP choice of Cruz after he assumed the presidency.

None of this is illegal, but it is very unorthodox.

It would catch both the democrats and the GOPee on the back foot.

Call me crazy but I think it would play well with the voters.

Think of it. A consolidation of the support for three people and all the money needed to run a modern campaign...heck, if you could get several popular figures to agree to accept cabinet positions you could bring in yet more support. Run as a team.

Trump could buy an hour of TV time and announce that he, Cruz and the others would be announcing something big... imagine the audience!

Dangerous times call for innovative solutions.

IMHO he is for real and he is showing US each and every phoney in media/government who happen to be UNREAL. Donald has shown US what Fox News is..a shill. WHO George Will is/a phoney. Who HILLARY is/ a money grabbing criminal *itch, as well as all the ‘little guys’ and the games they play.

Now he needs to sit down with the persons who do know how to make this country great, and ask for their input and wisdom. He has the IDEA and looking to find the road in order to reach those goals. Neither pro/con here on Trump, did not like the man so much - too loud, egotistical, and full of hot air. But he does shake things up and at the moment he is telling the truth about SO much that one would be a fool not to listen. He knows how to talk to ‘common people’ something our elitists have long forgotten. This is definitely Trump’s time to shine.

I’m glad I’ve seen a few episodes of the apprentice. It gives you a feel of how he operates. I liked that he always asked his guests questions about their “mission”...how did you....why did you....
He used a big, important word today...flexible....not in the way Obama meant flexible to Putin...but in the idea the sometimes you start out this way and something makes you change direction.

The Donald knows that things always start with:

Where do you want to go

How will you get there

In what timeframe

What will success look like and how you you measure and sustain it.

Then how much will it cost..

Thats the essence of strategic planning minus all the fancy buzzwords

Well, while not yet "sold" on Trump, I definitely think the GOPe is too far gone and should burn... That may be the only thing that prevents America from burning.

A year ago I'd have said that was crazy, and that the Tea Party (etc.) should push reform from the inside. I was wrong.

re>There are a bunch of Trumpettes here who seem quite content to let Hillary and the Dems rule the country You "CRUZ to LOSE" guys are annoying. I suggest you see what Cruz has just said about how stupid his supporters are for dumping on Trump supporters.

I love Cruz but his supporters are extremely irritating.

Cruz goes on to explain why he thinks it’s a mistake to denigrate Trump and his followers, Cruz tells <>Politico: “Donald Trump had a rally in Phoenix, Ariz. [to which] between 10 and 20 thousand people came out. When you attack and vilify the people at that rally as crazies, it does nothing to help Republicans win in 2016. I’d like every single person at that rally to show up and vote in 2016, knock on doors with energy and passion, and turn this country around. If Washington politicians show contempt and condescension to those [voters,] that is a path to losing at the ballot box.” He’s right.
