Increased likelihood of below-normal Atlantic hurricane season
NOAA ^ | August 6, 2015 | NOAA

Posted on 08/11/2015 8:21:38 AM PDT by NY.SS-Bar9

The NOAA Climate Prediction Center’s updated 2015 Atlantic Hurricane Season Outlook calls for a 90 percent chance of a below-normal hurricane season. A below-normal season is now even more likely than predicted in May, when the likelihood of a below-normal season was 70 percent.

“Tropical storms and hurricanes can and do strike the United States, even in below-normal seasons and during El Niño events,” said Gerry Bell, Ph.D., lead seasonal hurricane forecaster with NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center. “Regardless of our call for below-normal storm activity, people along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts should remain prepared and vigilant, especially now that the peak months of the hurricane season have started.”

Two tropical storms already have struck the United States this year. Ana made landfall in South Carolina in May, and Bill made landfall in Texas in June.

The 90 percent probability of a below-normal season is the highest confidence level given by NOAA since seasonal hurricane outlooks began in 1998.

Remember the days when only Hurricanes were named? Now even tropical storms are named so the low info crowd can be kept in a constant state of fear.

So, to what do we attribute a total lack of storm activity?

Go with the left's patent answer: THE STOOPID EVIL GENIUS GEORGE W BOOOOSH AND HIS WEATHER-CONTROL HAARP ARRAY!

According to them, ten years ago, we should be under water by now.

But they can’t let the oceans warm just yet because the “green” market is still a huge money maker with hipsters and suburbanites paying big $$$$ for any ‘green’ marketed product. They still have a few billion to make on squiggly light bulbs and biodegradable grocery bags. People still have big dreams to start up companies that create ‘green’ energy (see Solyndra) and they can’t get their funding millions out of thin air. They must keep the myth alive.

“So, to what do we attribute a total lack of storm activity?”

Attribute a BS article about total lack of storm activity to a $1.2, or so Trillion Dollar Industry.

As the planet burns up in a greed driven climate apocalypse, America’s coasts are devastated. No President in American history has had to deal with this crisis more than Barack Obama.
Well, except every President since Zachary Taylor, who died in 1850, the year the government starting keeping records.

In fairness, he was tied with Benjamin Harrison for the fewest hurricanes (all Cat 1) in a four year term.

Boy, don’t you long for the days when the climate was “stable”, when CO2 was below 300ppm and there was no such thing as “extreme weather”?

Grover Cleveland’s first term had 15 hurricanes including the famous Cat 4 “Indianola”! Even FDR’s first term had 13 hurricanes including the “Labor Day” storm with winds speeds DOUBLE that of Sandy.

September 1933 had as many hurricanes as Obama had in 6 years! Can you imagine today’s media if they were around 130 years ago? Seriously, just imagine if today’s Carbon Cult was around when 2-3 hurricanes hit America every month during in storm season.

With a little knowledge you can separate the truly ignorant from the propagandists.

Just don’t forget all the dire predictions in the wake of Katrina. Florida had five hurricanes that year - back-to-back-to-back.... We were all told that was the new pattern.

If TV news was really about the news instead of entertainment, some host would dig out tape of some idiot’s predictions that year - then invite them on the show to ask them about how their predictions worked out.

Instead, they just have the same morons back on to make brand new predictions. It’s about filling air time.

I wish they’d use the top 60 ghetto names for those tropical storms.

“Just don’t forget all the dire predictions in the wake of Katrina.”

Look at how they wrote the headline.

‘Increased likelihood of below-normal Atlantic hurricane season’

They make everything sound dire no matter how good the news might be!

How long has it been since a major (Cat 3 or higher) hurricane has hit the USA?

“NOAA Says It’s a Record: No Major Hurricane Has Struck U.S. Mainland in 10 Years”
26JUN2015
http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/kathleen-brown/noaa-says-its-record-no-major-hurricane-has-struck-us-mainland-10-years

But it does look like this current El Nino is gearing up to be something similar to the one in 1997 although no guarantees on that.
http://iceagenow.info/2015/08/el-nino-could-bring-relief-to-california-drought-or-disaster/

That means lots of rain for CA. Maybe it’ll be enough to cause land slides, flooding, and other disasters that the pressitutes will have a field day with!

I’m supposed to believe this? Where I live the weather reporters can’t even get the three day forecast correct!

Truthfully, this year all bets are off on the weather. Nobody has a clue what is going to happen with El Nino.

http://www.weather5280.com/blog/2015/04/21/el-nino-update-and-forecast/

Last year, it was projected to be strong, or unusually strong, but that didn’t happen. Same projections this year. And nobody knows why.

And nobody knows why.

Possibly because Solar activity has been low? Possibly because people are arrogant enough to think that they can change the weather?

Yup. A hurricane is only a energy transfer system, albeit on a massive scale.

Not enough residual energy in a system? No hurricanes.

I wonder, though I'm far from an expert on the subject, if the recent dearth of Atlantic Hurricanes is in some way tied to the overabundance of them a decade or so ago. There were massive hurricanes, and also record numbers of them, in the Atlantic. That's a whole lot of energy dissipated, and I'd think it would take time to build back up again.

But as I say, I'm no expert.

Brilliant! We're halfway through the season, so making such a "prediction" is pretty easy at this point.

Right in one. Tisn't about anything other than control. And lots of money.

Though, I do like my new LED Bulbs (not the squiggly ones, the expensive LED ones). They work great, and paid for themselves in a little over a year, and will last for 12-15 more. I figure that they only cost a few pennies a year to operate. And, I'm not goofing around on a ladder all the time, to replace the incandescents....

However, I likely would have arrived at the decision to purchase them on my own, without any gov't "help", because it made sense. Free Will. Imagine That. :-)

I seem to recall their track record with these things is not all that good.

People might want to start buying plywood, generators and bottled water.

Considering it’s more than half over and no sign yet of a hurricane I would say this is not sticking out your neck.

Duh. Finally figured out the East Atlantic was colder than normal. Bet they never figure out that El Nino actually cools the planet.

The planet is cooling. El Nino is the proof. Energy is being blown off the oceans and not entering the circulation currents. What happens in the atmosphere is insignificant.
