Clinton adviser on Israel [Sandy Berger] had commercial ties to Middle East

A controversial Clinton adviser who faced penalties for conflicts of interests under President Bill Clinton was still assisting Hillary Clinton as secretary of state, despite the fact that his consulting firm was engaged in commercial activities in countries where she worked, emails show.

Sandy Berger, who gained notoriety when he stole classified documents from the National Archives prior to testimony before the 9/11 Commission, had Hillary Clinton's personal email address and emailed her about Israel, Pakistan and terrorism in 2009.

Berger's consulting firm, the Albright Stonebridge Group, has engaged in business in more than 100 countries around the world, according to its website.

It has worked extensively in the Middle East, an area that Berger sought to assist Hillary Clinton on during her State Department tenure.

In discussing methods of dealing with Israel in September 2009, Berger said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's positioning in Palestinian negotiations "suggests Bibi is the obstacle to progress." Berger outlined a number of ways to put pressure on Netanyahu to bend to the will of the U.S., outlining guidance that was skewed in favor of Palestinian statehood.

It was not the only time Berger referred to Netanyahu as an "obstacle," although Hillary Clinton was publicly working on strengthening her relationship with Israel at the time.

Clinton asked Berger "how to gain leverage over the Pakistanis" in October 2009, emails between the two show. She had also asked Berger for advice on ways to encourage Pakistan to more aggressively pursue al Qaeda.

A "monthly thinking group" listed among Clinton's emails included Berger. Other attendees appeared to include John Podesta, Clinton's present campaign chair, and Maggie Williams, who worked at the Clinton Foundation before State.

Berger was not the only Albright Stonebridge executive with whom Hillary Clinton had regular contact. Wendy Sherman served as vice chair of Albright Stonebridge before Clinton tapped her to join the State Department in 2011.

Sherman has been deeply involved in the Iran negotiations, and her name surfaced in several Benghazi-related emails the State Department released in May. In July of 2009, Sherman complimented Clinton's appearance on "Meet the Press" from her company account. The exchange indicates Sherman had Clinton's private email address.

Months later, Sherman was sending Clinton regards before the secretary departed for a trip to Africa.

Berger's role mirrors that of Sidney Blumenthal, who emailed Clinton advice throughout her tenure, despite having business ties to at least one of the countries on which he advised her.

Berger stole items from the National Archives for the Clintons when there were investigations about 9-11 [2001] - on the Clinton "after-action report," no less.

Interesting in light of Hillary and the Benghazi 9-11 [2012] "video" lie.

2004: Feds probe Clinton aide over missing papers

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Former national security adviser Samuel "Sandy" Berger is under criminal investigation by the Justice Department over allegations that he took secret documents from the National Archives while reviewing Clinton administration records for the 9/11 commission.

Sources said that among the documents Berger took were drafts of a Clinton administration "after-action" report on efforts to thwart the so-called "millennium plot," a suspected al Qaeda attack planned around the New Year's holiday in 1999.

Berger, who was national security adviser during President Clinton's second term, said in a statement Monday that the removal of the papers was unintentional.

He said he returned everything he had after the National Archives told him documents were missing, "except for a few documents that apparently I had accidentally discarded."................"

I suppose it will be viewed and defended as, 'just a businessman doing what needs to be done to be successful - that that's how you have to do it - grease the wheels [buy favors, know where the bodies are buried],' so to speak - the sure pathway to "power and influence" that we're seeing paraded across the national stage in the political arena.

He should be in prison. Instead, he’s getting richer and richer from his government contacts and advising Hillary.

If one person would run for president on the platform that he would prosecute every government worker that ever broke the law in the last 20 years, he’d win in a landslide. And screw the statute of limitations.

On another note, I wonder if people like Berger and Blumenthal sit around and talk about how dumb Hillary is.

“......That is why Hillary and Sid Blumenthal, her fawning New Left Machiavelli, call their own political philosophy the politics of “The Third Way.” This distinguishes it from the “triangulation” strategy Dick Morris used to resurrect Bill Clinton’s presidency. Morris guided Clinton, in appropriating specific Republican policies towards a balanced budget and welfare reform as a means of securing his re-election. Hillary Clinton was on board for these policies, and in that sense is a triangulator herself. But “triangulation” is too merely tactical and too morally crass to define a serious political philosophy. Above all, it fails to project the sense of promise that intoxicates the imaginations of self-styled “progressives.” That is why Hillary and Sid call their politics “The Third Way.”

“The Third Way” is a familiar term from the lexicon of the left with a long and dishonorable pedigree in the catastrophes created by messianic socialists in the 20th Century. It is the most ornate panel in the tapestry of deception I described at the beginning of this essay.

In the 1930s, Nazis used “The Third Way” to characterize their own brand of national socialism as a equidistant between the “internationalist” socialism of the Soviet Union and the capitalism of the West. Trotskyists used “The Third Way” as a term to distinguish their own Marxism from Stalinism and capitalism. In the 1960s, New Leftists used “The Third Way” to define their politics as an independent socialism between the Soviet gulag and America’s democracy.

But as the history of Nazism, Trotskyism and the New Left have shown, there is no “Third Way.” There is the capitalist, democratic way based on private property and individual rights—a way that leads to liberty and universal opportunity. And there is the socialist way of group identities, group rights, a relentless expansion of the political state, restricted liberty and diminished opportunity. The Third Way is not a path to the future. It is just the suspension between these two destinations. It is a bad faith attempt on the part of people who are incapable of giving up their socialist schemes to escape the taint of their discredited past.

Is there a practical difference in the modus operandi of Clinton narcissism and Clinton messianism? I think there is, and it is the difference between “triangulation”—a cynical compromise to hang onto power until the next election cycle, and “The Third Way”—a cynical deception to ensure the continuance of Us, until we acquire enough power to transform everyone else. It is the difference between the politics of getting what you can, and the politics of changing the world......... [2000-David Horowitz]

“Clinton adviser on Israel [Sandy Berger] had commercial ties to Middle East”

I understand the specifics issues in the article.

But, seriously, who doesn’t have ‘commercial ties to the Middle East”, so long as they bring in the $$$ and favors, for themselves, or their own.

This type of bribery/abuse of authority was common toward the end of the Roman republic.

The “preparations” for what would have been the “millennium plot” were implemented on March 20, 1999.

You might know the “preparations” for the attack by another name.

Hillary called it her “Scorched Earth Policy” the premise of which comes from Bill Ayers/Weather Underground.

It calls for orchestrate civil unrest/race riots then follow up with terrorist attack.

You know just like the “spontaneous” protest followed by a “spontaneous” terrorist attack at Benghazi.

Four days later is when the US began bombing the crap out of the Serbs in Kosovo.

Clinton had climbed into bed with the KLA which we have learned were allied with al Qaeda.

The very same al Qaeda that was planning the 9-11 attack.

Let’s not forget OBL indicated after the 2004 election the objective of the 9-11 attack was to bring down the sitting president.

Funny and just a coincidence I’m sure, at the same time OBL is planning an attack against the US with the objective of bringing down a sitting president the Clintons were implementing their “20 year plan”.

With the Clintons 20 year plan B Clinton would serve as president for 8 years, there would be another person serving as president for 4 years then Hillary would be president for 8 years.

For the Clintons 20 year plan to work not only did the Clintons have to make sure Gore didn’t get elected they would have to come up with a plan to bring down a sitting president after 4 years for Hillary to get elected.

It’s just a coincidence I’m sure, the Clintons talking points in the news before the 9-11 attack, Bush stole the election, and their talking points in the news after the attack, Bush knew, had absolutely nothing to do with the Clintons 20 year plan.

Of course there is that little al Qaeda document from OBL recovered in Afghanistan where he says basically the media, meaning the news, is 90% of the preparation for the battle.

I know, the terrorist are so in tune with the news they can pick up on a news story and “spontaneously” plan an attack.
